Boomers?
Only a Millennial dumbass would think that a Boomer was serving in Congress in 1968.
Thats when the Gun Control Act of 1968 came to be and put the minimum age to purchase a firearm at 21. A few years later it was reduced to 18 for the purchase of rifles and shotguns.

18-21 year olds are fresh graduates of our woke indoctrination school system for one. Many high schools don't even have basic shop classes anymore to teach wood working or other skills, they narrowed it down to fit in lgbt studies and other useless things.

Think of it as a probationary period. We all went through the same shit. Sometimes you have to dole out responsibility in a metered way. It sets you expectations for having to scrap for all you have later in life.

I don't  get it on how hard the younger generation thinks that have it so bad where previous generations didn't. At 18 there were boys going to Nam. Everyone made shit money until you found your groove in a career. We couldn't drink either at least in my state. I worked 2 jobs and honestly didn't have time for much else.

Can't purchase or even possess alcohol in most states.  Some places won't even let people under 21 inside.  This is age discrimination. (I even say that if a person can't legally buy or possess alcohol then they should be exempt from DUI check points.)

Denied the right to purchase a handgun/pistol and handgun ammo to be used in a pistol from a FFL

Extended wait and hold times when purchasing a long gun from a FFL when the background check is conducted through NICS.  This happens because the government says so, and not for any other reason.

There might be other denied privileges as well.  This is what springs to mind.

I say that a person is an adult or not.  None of this pro-rated stuff.  A person 18-21 should not be subject to the same laws as people over 21 until they get the same privileges and rights as every other adult. Until the day happens that adults under 21 have every right and privileges as those over 21, then they are second class citizens in this country.

Move to FL and then you can drink at home if your parents are there.

Or join the Army, go to Germany and you can drink at 16.

It's amazing to watch the disciples of boomertardianism shit in every thread no matter the topic.

It's like their Superpower.

Uh huh. This all started happening some time after that generation experienced all this fun and amazing stuff legally in their late formative years but before I was born. Who, pray tell, was the dominant cultural and political group in, what, the mid 80s to mid 90s when all theae restrictions came about? Were the GGs still ghoulishly clinging to power until they died in their elected seats like certain other generations are trying to do?

I wouldn't laugh about it. A kid who learned how use specific tools, and how to make blue prints at high school is at least 1 year ahead of his peers in getting a real job from day 1. It ties into engineering and other things, it's not just making wooden trinkets.

There are plenty of examples of teenagers taking on and fulfilling adult responsibilities.  There is a desire by some in society to 'protect' young people from 'adult' issues such as death, responsibility, work, etc. as long as possible.  It is a disservice to the young.  The brain will develop if challenged, just like other muscles.

If my aurguments for 18-20 are for them having all rights are weak, then so be it.

And further research showed that it keeps developing into the early 30's. And then even more research showed that the brain *never* stops developing and changing.

The brain development excuse is just that - an excuse used to keep young adults infantilized so they can be more easily manipulated.

Can't have tobacco or weed, in many states can't buy lottery tickets or enter porn stores/strip clubs, can't rent cars, in other jurisdictions can't own or buy long guns.  If  this is the case don't allow 18-20yr Olds to vote, get lines or credit,  enter the military, and consider them juveniles legally.

So then treat them as children.

Not really responsible for whatever crimes they commit, can't sign a contract, can't sign up to be child soldiers in the US military, can't vote. On the flip-side, they should also be exempt from any and all taxes. Taxation without representation and all that.

So when white people complain that they're being marginalized for hiring and other decisions in favor of DEI applicants...

"Life isn't fair, get used to it"?

US gov't is making it a higher priority to take care of illegals while actively fucking actual Americans? "Life isn't fair, get used to it."

You can go ahead and get used to it if you want. I'd rather change it. Guess some people could have just gotten used to living under the British crown. Afterall, some people get to be kings, some people get to be shit, "Life isn't fair, get used to it."

The ones who say "Get used to it." Are generally the ones that end up being shit.
