Bro you can just get a 1911, a couple chip mccormick mags, and a belt setup from world war supply and be part of the thing. With a case of ammo you're way under $2000.

This. Great Grandpa didn't win two world wars by shooting his 7 round mags (in a SAO) to slide lock.

Bang, bang bangbangbang (3-5 dead japs) take cover, reload then repeat.

Are there double stack 1911/2011s worth a damn that aren’t $2000+? Capacity and cost are really what’s been keeping me from looking outside my beloved Glock 19 and 26 setup.

Already rich in Glock mags you say? The Stealth Arms Platypus is what you seek:

https://www.stealtharms.net/p/platypus

It’s a 2011 that takes Glock mags. But remember - it only counts if you order it cut for an optic

Oh yeah I forgot those are coming in under $2000. That's the 2011 for me but I've got other stuff I need like my upstairs of my house renovated, a couple more cans, a couple more Glocks, some optics upgrades, and about 2 pallets of ammo.

Not a 9mm.

Not a .45

Not a 10mm.

Not a revolver.

ETA: but seriously, it's one of these

Front strap will get checkered and it will get wood grips. Most likely a Chen magwell too.

This, a thousand times this. I'd save for it and buy nothing else until I had it. Years ago there were conversion kits for a 1911 to let it shoot (then) cheap and plentiful Tok ammo. Negligible capacity increase I think. Again if I had the cash I'd be interested in one of those too.

Remember who made those? I have an ammo can full of Tok ammo and would love to swap a slide onto one of my 1911s instead of picking up a Tok pistol.

Maybe I should put up some WTB ads on forums and see if anyone has one collecting dust they’d like to move.

Variant 9 and 10 are DA/SA with manual safeties and no decocker like a CZ-75, so they may as well be.

All of the different safety mechanisms are swappable, for the most part. There are cocked-and-locked capable USPs and HK45s. I'm not sure if the safety option is safety only, but you can run them both SAO.

I already spent a bazillion dollars on 2011 mags and esstac pouches so it's a sunk cost at this point. I'm just a Staccato bro now I guess. I can't justify the money for an Atlas but I will ALWAYS shoot one if offered when I see them. They are turbo cheating

What you do now is send your Broccato off to a well known gunsmith to hot up for you and make it better than an Atlas

Eh, it's fine. It's a good pistol.

Money better spent on a 50. I need a 50. Or a 1301.

Or stop with guns and get silly thermal. I think the Staccato will be it for awhile pistol wise. I'll eventually get a Platypus but silly shit needs to happen before that.

1301 1st.

Right after I zeroed the T2 and CROM aperture at 50 yards with slugs, this was the first 3 rounds of LE127 00 9 pellet flitecontrol out of mine at 25 yards.

It also has a single action FCG, relevant to this thread.

ETA: And AU has them for $1340right now. It is not the Mod 2 though:

Worth trying. And the good news is if it turns out your hands don’t like it, with the high demand the resale value of an unfired gun should be basically what you paid for it.

Get it with a bull barrel and their new “Prickle” (micropocket) grip texture
