I mean, honestly, who would put this level of effort into the stock of an SKS? It doesn't even look good.

Here's his description: "A pimped SKS That takes ak 47 cpils $650.00"

Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:36:35 PM EST
its better than a tapco destroyed sks but that stick is ugly as shit imo
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:40:19 PM EST
Maybe if it had some paki tape on it.

But it's "Tactical" now!!!!!
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:43:35 PM EST
Well, it isn't a stock stock, it is something he made. It looks like craft and talent, I see why some in GD would have a conniption.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:44:32 PM EST
I like it!

Looks like a mod of one of the Chinese thumbhole stocks.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:45:07 PM EST
Does not look like a good fit.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:45:28 PM EST
I am actually kind of impressed.

Tapco-fucked would be much worse, IMO.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:45:28 PM EST
I actually like that. Very well done. Wood man has plenty of time on his hands.

The real question is, why is he selling it now? I have a dumb idea sitting in my safe that I use more than any other tool in there.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:46:54 PM EST
That is one ugly Motherf….er!!!!!
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:47:06 PM EST

Kinda like an Italian marble mantle around a fake fireplace in some redneck's 60's vintage single-wide .

All the thumbhole stocks I can find images for look like this:

I really think that's custom, but of course the chinese could've sent anything.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:51:43 PM EST
The good news is that it looks like no original SKS parts were harmed in the making of that...creation.

Big deal. For 15 bucks he can pick up a military stock and you would never know.

I would like to shoot it first before I called it junk.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:55:05 PM EST
I've seen much worse.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 12:56:40 PM EST
SKS stocks are dirt cheap thanks to all the Bubba's that tapcofuck their guns. It could be worse.

Yeah, the thumb hole is larger and the grip thinner than I remembered...

Someone who needed something to practice on?

Or something to do in general?

I think it's fuckin' sweet... but a bit outta place on an SKS.

Maybe if you got one of them Chromed SKSs and dropped it in there...

I'm serious.

I've been wanting a SKS that takes AK mags... locally that would be a good price.
Stock is easy to replace.

I was at a range many years ago where someone showed up with one of the Chinese 'parade' rifles, and it has to be one of the best 'bling' guns out there. Pretty cool, and I'd be more than happy to have one in my collection.

Thumb hole stock is an improvement.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 1:13:40 PM EST
That's different.

Not sure if I would call it "pimped".

Fudded, yes. Pimped, no.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 1:13:54 PM EST

Wow. I don't know whether to feel bad for the action or the stock.

Meh back I the 90s a friend of mine that worked at a cabinetry shop make a copy of a ATI monte carlo SKS stock out of AA walnut

He used to take the rifle to gun shows just to troll for responses
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 1:35:02 PM EST
Not for me, but it took more skill than coating it with glue and dragging it through a Tapco catalog. One of our members made a very nice stock for his SKS a couple years ago, lots of work and turned out great.
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 1:36:49 PM EST
That looks like a bag of assholes. Fuck that guy.

Its an SKS, you can't make it more of a POS

You could make it into a:

- Universal M1 Carbine
- Sig Mosquito
- Century .308 converted MAS 36 or 49/56
- Century Tantal
- Jennings whatever
- CZ52
-...

People tend to forget that SKS rifles are contemporaries of the Garand, not the SCAR. They are quite good at what they were designed to do, even if a bit homely.

That's fucking awesome.

Also probably turns a $69 gun into a $469 gun too, right?

eta: $295 for the kit, I was damn close. Too bad SKSs aren't $69 anymore.
I'm not paying $5/6/700 for an SKS even if it does look badass.

I for one don't think they're homely at all. I really dig them. Except for Yugos.

If I ever converted to bullpupism, which I won't, I would do that. Ammo is to cheap to do anything else

I presume that you are talking about the 59/66s and not the M59s...

It took me forever to find a great M59, since most were heavily worn/abused. The only significant damage/wear on this one is the scratch on the wood above the front of the trigger guard.
