So, yesterday afternoon I started feeling extremely tired, took a nap for about an hour, then woke up walked around took care of the kids and helped get them to bed. The whole time I just felt really off and weird like I was in a dream or something. Then I started to feel a little short of breath. I went to bed and I could breathe ok, but it was just difficult like I had to put effort into it. I ended up sitting up in bed and that made it a little easier and I feel asleep.

Woke up this morning (no, I didn't die...yet) and felt fine. I am sitting at a desk at work now and still feel like my breathing is labored again off and on. Am I going to die today?

I'm not obese but I've got about 20 lbs to lose.
I had pneumonia about 7 months ago - breathing feels similar but no fever/coughing
ran around a track on Sunday with pushups/pullups after each lap and felt great.

Get to your doctor.

Could be all kinds of bad things.  Including heart.  Or could be something minor.  Only way to know is see the doctor.

And dibs on guns.

I would go see a doc, shortness of breath can be linked to heart disease / heart attack

I hope you are ok. But if you decide to die, I will take the ammo.

Shortness of breath or labored breathing is a red flag.

Not to be alarmist but my dad had the same sort of thing happen fairly recently. Turned out that while working out he had torn a small blood vessel in a very large tumor in his lung that he didn't know about. He died 3 months later. Go get looked at. Most men die of chronic stubborn because they don't want to accept that they're not invincible.

Dibbs on empty shell casings.

Get to a doctor or ER.  Tell them not to discount a blood clot in your lungs.  Ask me how I know.

Too much caffeine will make me feel similar. I quit drinking coffee every day which cured my acid reflux and that feeling. Go get checked out.

BP was checked on Friday and was fine, but I haven't checked it since I started having issues yesterday.

Heading to doctor shortly. I had a clot last year in my leg but it was due to an injury in that leg. They did take me off of the thinners kind of fast though. They initially said 6 months minimum, but they took me off after 3 when I got the pneumonias. Never got a follow up CT scan to make sure it was completely gone, but I didn't have any symptoms. I will make sure to mention it when I go in.

Gotcha.  I would start with a check of the BP numbers, but if you can get in to see your doc, or a visit to your local ER, that would be a fine idea.

Don't wait.

ETA: I see you're going in to see your Dr.  Good job, and best wishes for good results.

That's awful, but since you asked, we have a plethora of "Frozen" dolls that sing "Let it go." You can have dibs on those.

went to doc, BP was fine, oxygen was fine, lungs and heart sounded fine, temp was fine, etc. He gave me option to get CT scan and X-Ray of lungs just to be sure and they both came back fine. Been feeling fine since yesterday afternoon. I guess we're chalking it up to getting old unless I'm becoming a hypochondriac.
