Who remebers their DI's or DS's names?
SDI : Stf Sgt Norton DI (BH) Sgt Angulo. This guy knew how to fuck people up DI : Stf Sgt Acero DI : Sgt Mobley I will honestly say that these gentlemen made more of an influence in my life than anyone else mainly because my father was never around when I was a child. |
|
I only remember the main guy.
SFC Winston Harris. Wow, guy was a hard ass. But in true GD fashion , I as a lowly maggot fixed his ass one fine day...... Were in the tank hes teaching us about something. The food is tearing me up and I let loose with a SBD ...... Christ I swear, I thought I must be rotting from the inside out. DI was unhappy to say the least. 3 cruits in the tank and he wanted to know who it was.......yeah......thats not happening, Im not owning up to that .... He tells us that shit better not happen again..........uh yeah, thats not gonna happen either Bout 2 minutes after the air clears......yep SBD again, there was no stopping it . I needed to do more pushups anyway |

Senior Drill Sgt. Small
Drill Sgt. Boyd Drill Sgt. Ferrell Those men taught me more about myself than I thought possible |
|
Sgts Trujillio and Zook... that was 43 years ago and I can't remember 10% of names
I've known since |
|
SDI: Sgt Wilson
DI: Sgt Smithers DI: Sgt Duplessis I wonder where they are these days
|
|
We had three of them. There names were Moore, Moore, and Morris.
We had fun trying not to piss them off by confusing their names. |
|
SFC Fuller
SSG Schaul SSG I want to say his name was White (reservist did two weeks for his AT with us) |
|
I have a "boot camp book" that has their names and pictures in it.
We had two Company Commanders, one was an asshole AD1 that was getting a divorce, the other was a Master Chief Boiler Technician (f'ing old school) who was a really cool guy. ETA: NTC Orlando Florida |
|
USAF TI (training instructor, for you non-zoomie types): SSGT Jewell, good teacher/trainer and a good guy. Can't remember the rest. Can't really remember my unit commanders or flight chiefs from duty stations either.
I spent my enlistment quietly doing my job and flying under the radar. Even in Week 6 of BMT, Sgt Jewell was still asking me who I was. I didn't catch his attention until I finished the final written exam in four minutes flat. When I returned to bay he thought I'd been sent back for discipline. |

Drill Sgt Hardey. 6'4 inch tall black dude that would drop you in a heartbeat for the teeniest infraction. Drill Sgt Ellingworth. That sadistic fucker would bring his amazingly hot drop dead gorgeous wife to the barracks every few days just to cause us recruits more pain and suffering, thank god for saltpeter. Ellingworth carried a mess hall carafe of coffee wherever he went and would always send one of us running back to the mess hall when it was empty. No matter how far away we were. And the motor pool at Disney Barracks was a long way from the mess hall. I still respect both of them and would shake their hands today and thank them for what they did for me. |
|
SFC Chappelle
SSG Lee SSG Ross Ross was ok. Lee was cool, but could smoke your legs like nobodies business. Chappelle was at once the meanest, scariest, and one of the most badass soldiers I've ever met. I'd follow that bastard anywhere and never question him.

I remember my assistant PS, mainly because he was a prick (I got some payback about a year later, though ).
And DS SSG Zachary...if I live to be 100, I will never forget that guy. |

http://d2.static.dvidshub.net/media/thumbs/photos/1005/279124/450x302_q75.jpg It is, most of the main post is flat with low hills and when you road march on those hills as a new recruit, hardly under ruck, you have three tall, very steep hill to get over, or down, and that's a pain too. |
