Isn't Rusty Shackleford Dale Gribble's alias? Is it anyone elsed? I was just curios b/c while I was listening to my scanner last night one of our local LEO's called in for a DL lookup for a Rusty Shackleford. I don't think it was in the system, but I became sidetracked on another call. I did get a good chuckle out of it however.

Anyway is there more to this Rusty Shackleford than just Dale?

No, I run every bogus name given to me. I print them up with a copy of the report for the additional charges that I tack on.

A quick online White Pages search turned up at least 9 guys publicly listed exactly as "Rusty Shackleford" (no middle name/initial, etc.) - one of them was even in Texas!

He taught my Intro to Computer Programming class at Georgia Tech. Probably not the same guy though.

I was left wondering if it was someone a) without a valid DL b) a warrant or c) A dumb kid thinking it would be a funny joke.

If it is c, it would entertain me that when they are filling out paper work for the rest of their life and it ask if they have ever gone by any alias's they will have to put "Rusty Shackleford"

That could come back to haunt the guy. Once you're booked in jail under a name, it's yours real or not. If you had cash when you came in you get a check when you leave and it's in your booking name. Kinda makes it tough to cash that check

I use that name to order pizza.

Is he related to Wilson Tarbuckles? or Butch Driveshaft?

Dude, my guy that does my heating/cooling is named Shackleford. I was calling him Rusty, until I heard another guy call him Jeff.

HAH. He said he had another customer call him Rusty too. I told him it was from the King of the Hill character.
