I know all about the movies, but who really invented the modern Zombie, the concept is priceless.  The dead can't complain but in the meantime you can "prepare" for all variants of SHTF without any whining.

Fooking priceless! (watching Michael Bain' Zombie edition if you were wondering)!

Pretty sure Romero was the first to make the modern zombie zombie concept and movie. The idea of voodoo type zombies has been around for a very long time though.

I thought Arfcom was a zombie preparation website.

I think that we need a dupe-police special forces fleet reduction first.

God invented zombies when he created rabies.

Man simply pondered "Hmm what if humans got this?"

Nope.  There was a Bob Hope movie, IIRC made in 1942 about zombies (voodoo shit) that was quite funny.  I can't believe the things they got away with back then.  Definately not PC.

ETA:  It is called 'The Ghost Breakers', made in 1940.  Very, very funny.

If you mean modern zombies as in flesh eating dead, then George Romero did it with Night of the Living Dead.  However if you watch "Last Man On Earth" with Vincent Price, which is an earlier film, you will be able to see alot  of "ideas" that Romero borrowed. Both are cool movies.
