I didn't actually pistol whip somebody, I gave a buttstroke to the head series to my 2nd LT while on bivouac in Basic Training.
The DI's had filled our heads with stories about civilians coming onto Ft. Leonardwood, sneaking through the woods to try and steal M16's. I was in my foxhole and someone came sneaking through the woods. My buddy offered the password challenge. He stopped and said nothing. I snuck out of the foxhole, flanked the LT and came up behind him. The challenge was offered again, no response again. From about 6 feet away, I told him to halt. He spun and rushed me. He caught my rifle butt on the side of the head. He wasn't too hurt but had a good lump next to his ear. I didn't get into trouble as he was in the wrong, but I did get a lot of shit details after that. |

thats why I like the 1911....muc h better for pistol whipping than glocks or hks
the worst part about that wasnt the actual injury, it was that the army took 5 years to let me in because they kept misreading the actual diameter of the skull defect. add insult to injury, the last i heard one of the guys who robbed me joined the army himself about three years after the incident. meanwhile it took me 5 years of persistence and congressional inquiries.... |

22 years LEO, never had to do it and don't really know anyone who has.
No pistol whipping, but my dad buttstroked my sisters former husband across the back of head with an m1 carbine, 13 stitches.
I may own a 1911 but I broke a guys jaw and put him down with a single hit with my G21. I will agree that the 1911 is a better club, I'm just saying it can be done very easily with a Glock or Hk |
So you've never stroked your Glock? Tis a pity! |

First time, Smith 5906. Backhand slap with the slide across the forehead. Ended the fight right there.
Second time, Overhead clubbing with A Beretta 92 to the top of the head. Kind of a glancing blow, had to repeat in order to achieve satisfactory results. He bled a LOT. I've also smacked folks with a metal clipboard, handcuffs, flashlights, handheld radios, a chunk of concrete, A 100' metal tape measure and a road flare. (unlit) |

damn, what a story. glad you commited and made it in. is that scar a recent picture or from when you were 15? im thinking recent but thats a hell of a scar. any more details on your stomach wound? |

That deserves more of a story. |

When my dad was a kid, he watched his grandfather pistol whip a guy to death in Chicago.
Evidently, his grandfather was a loan shark. He had previously filled an innertube with gasoline, lit it, and thrown it on the guy's roof, burning his house down. Evidently that wasn't enough to get him his money, so he had his brother grab the guy off the street and bring him to his house. They took him out back and beat him to death in the alley while my dad and his brother watched from a window upstairs. Aside from Don King and Ty Cobb, I can't really think of any other instances where someone was actually pistol whipped. |
the stomach wound ended up being barely anything at all, i had a little burn mark and a 6 inch long cut from my stomach outwards towards my hip. i guess you would call it a flesh wound. it was wintertime and i was wearing a sweatshirt and a big coat, i guess im lucky for that because i guess it made it harder to find my actual body under the clothes, even at point blank. that and the fact that it happened real fast and was completely random. i still have the jacket at my dads house, completely covered in blood and with a little hole in the bottom left corner. the pic i just took right now for the thread. i have one somewhere of my head about a month later, with big bloody scabs going through my hair. the cross pattern on the scar is from the surgery they gave me to deal with a blood clot i had as a result of the injury, and they stitched a styrofoam piece onto my scalp to cover it while it healed. |

I pistol whipped a guy with a Smith model 4043. I grabbed him by the shirt at the left shoulder with my left hand, spun him, and started beating him on the head with my pistol. Luckily I had the presence of mind to not smash my trigger finger against his skull. I keep my finger under the trigger guard instead of along side it. I moved it onto the grip handle for this occassion. Everytime I hit the guy the ammo in my mag shifted and made a funny sound like the buffer and spring in an AR 9mm. Kind of a gravelly "sproing" sound. It split his head and put him on the ground. Didn't knock him out though. Took the fight out of him and did not damage my pistol. Two things I was thankful for. There is more to the story of course. The whole thing that led to that incident. I did not like it at all and I'm sure he did not find it very pleasant either. |

Watched a small Thai cop take down a much bigger beligerent drunk on New Years eve 1970 in a bar in Ubon, Thailand..Blinded him with a flashlight and then two VERY QUICK blows with the butt end of what looked like a S&W 38 service revolver, drunk went down like a sack of oats......very effective!!!!!!

When I was younger I was spinning my new black powder navy colt on my finger...my nephew walked into it (he was about 8 or 9 at the time) and damn near split his head open.
I'm a bad man..... |

My sister and her husband had been seperated with my sister staying at my parents house. The couple had been talking and decided to get back together the next day. That night my sister came into my parents room and told that her husband was coming over for a talk. A little while later my dad heard some noises. He walked out into the hallway and could see through the glass storm door. My sisters husband had her long hair in one fist and was banging her head with the other fist. Dad kept an M1 carbine behind his door. He picked it up, opened up the door and bam, buttstroke across the back of his head sent him to the ground. Dad then corrected his grip and jacked a round in the chamber. About that time husbands buddy comes up and dad has both of them at gun point. Mom comes running out and is pushing the barrel of the gun up. Dad had to push mom back in the house while trying to cover the two thugs. During this both thugs took off running jumped in their car and took off. |

I happen upon a a rollover accident, call it in and go to take a look....
Looking in the passenger compartment when I hear fast footsteps on the snow turn up to see two tweekers charging me, draw pistol and the faster of the two made contact with me about hip level and attempts to grab me, I smack him in the side of the face and temple with a 226 down and out like a light, then I spin to try and aqquire a good shot for #2 but he makes contact with me running full speed, it was glancing blow and I spun out of it and on the way by hit #2 in the back of the head bouncing his head on the frame of the upside down truck out like a light. I thought I killed the first guy second guy was moaning rolling arround the ground |
I did it to a "bad guy" in force on force training.
It did have the desired effect, but I did also get a "talking to" about it. |
You must have watched a lot of Kung Fu as a child. Nice work. |
I like your dad. |

Man, I never get to pistol whip anybody. Maybe SP1Grrl will get off work early. I'll go hide behind the front door with HER 1911 and a camera. She loves games like this.
I'll post results later. ETA: Fellas, I'm a professional. Don't try this stuff at home. Stuff like this is the reason I don't get more action in the sack but a man's got to do what a man's got to do. |
wow, when she wakes up your a dead man. |
Does having someone pistolwhipped on my behalf count?
I'm involved in a drunken brawl in my front yard when my roommate comes home (you know, the shady one). His friend sees his buddies roommate getting his ass kicked by 4 or 5 guys and he pulls out a chrome .357 and knocks the first guy he comes to across the back of the head. Stoped the fight but there was "I'm gonna shoot your house up" drama for the next 6 hours. On second thought, change my vote to 'didn't work out'. |
I used to run bail bonds.
Had a few try getting frisky after I had them on the ground and was holstering my pistol to handcuff them. For some reason the dopers think that once you start putting your pistol away its game on. A quick smack to the back of the head with the slide of a G-19 generally calmed them down. Sometimes it took more then one, but that was rare. It was quicker to do that then fight them or try to finish holstering the pistol and pull out the baton. And no, my G-19 never KB'd or fell apart. |
She has it coming. Somewhere on this damn site she posted a pic of me walking around half naked sporting a Coach purse. (and to top it off, I didn't even match) |

Having met SP1grrl...your ass is toast. I got dibs on your toys. |

Yes, I hit a guy in the right side of his face with a Taurus PT-92 I drew out of a shoulder holster, the front sight (aftermarket meprolight night sight) broke off and he went down screaming. It was many years ago at a card game I bullied him off the table during a hand with a big tilt and he stood up and reached in the back of his pants for what I found out later was a knife, while cussing me.
Yes it worked, no I did not really intend to pistol whip him but I figured the pistol back hand would stagger him and keep him from stabbing me across the table. |
Well Sp1grrl survived. I need to practice my pistol-whipping skilz tho. Anyone want to see the video?
Nope just lucky and scared could have gone a number of ways Turns out the car was stolen and they wrecked it.. The whole thing happened in about 15 seconds, The first guy I laid out cold woke up in the ambulance and started fighting so a trooper had to go settle him down. the second guy woke up and refused medical but we took him anyway as my Sgt thought correctly that he would be injured. Broken orbit and cheekbone on #1, #2 had a concussion |

Dude, are you high? Of course we want to see the video! |
All right I will take the bait do tell |

Not me, but I know of a few Hadjis in Iraq that I wish I would've pistol whipped good. I remember we took into custody four individuals on our checkpoint back in 2003, they were driving two cars and when we checked their passports, along with their vehicles; the cars were clean, but we then realized that they were holding (according to our translator) Jordanian passports, so we took them into custody.
It seems that they could not match their names to the names on their passports (Ah-ha!), so we called Bn. and while we were waiting for intel to come by to snatch them up, they were babbling back and forth between each other, even despite the fact that we had them separated in 4 point on our checkpoint, zip tied and head covered with sand bags; one of them was quite the talker, probably the leader of the bunch. I was the one watching this very talkative Hadji and he was already driving me nuts with his talking, told him multiple tomes to shut up, in both English and my lousy broken Arabic; I was getting to the point that I was goign to shoot him, but kept my composure and eventually the intel guys came in and snatched them up; hours later, the maintenance guys brought a wrecker and took their cars off the checkpoint. Now remember kids, this is in 2003, we were still officially under military ops, so we were suspicious of everyone that was this far in-country with foreign visas and passports. Anyways, thought I'd share that with you guys. |
Yes
Don't wanna get into details much but a dude who drank too much tequila met up with my Ruger P90 .45. I got several cracks on the top of his head with the butt, he went down quickly and there was lots of blood. |
When I was in basic I got butt stroked with an M16.....luckly I was wearing my kevlar...it made me a believer of kevlar helmets.....I wasnt even stunned And was able to rip the M16 away throw it and attack said PVT....drill SGT saw the whole thing so I didnt get in trouble when he seperated us by grabing the other guys LBE and stepping on his neck

another good story and reason to carry a steel framed pistol! |
I was on the phone with him as he set up the camera, went and got her 1911 out of the safe... I wondered why the line went dead for a second, but then realized operation "SLEEP ON THE COUCH" was underway!!! |
