I've always wondered about this. Personally, I've lived in 4 different states. I love to travel and see new places. I think even if I was living in the best state in the US, if I had never been out, I'd still want to explore.
Anybody here lived in one state their whole life? |
Yep. All 20 years. Lived in the same house from when I was two until I moved to college.
I think you'll find some people here who have never left the borders of their home state, ever.
minus my army time, time as an expat and the time I lived in nebraska. I have lived here all my life.
Yup but also traveled to almost every state in the union and like it right at home the best.
Lived in a total of seven states (although I don't remember the first one because we moved when I was little). And overseas.
lived here my entire life. but have traveled to most states and many countries.

Texas. No need to live anywhere else. I lived in Texas a short period of time. I enjoyed my time there, but left for school purposes. But after living in places that have lots of national parks/forests/BLM land, the whole private land majority thing in TX was a little foreign to me. |

New York Germany California Texas
Possibly Washington in the not too distant future. |

Still live in the town where I was born. I'll probably die here.
Born and raised Ohioian with no plans to leave. I like my carbonated beverages to be called pop, beans in my chili, and my flags non rectangular in shape.
I have visited quite a few when I get bored. Honestly, we don't have big storms, beaches and mountains 1 1.5hrs away lots of green and class 3 friendly.
Only lived in Texas, but I've spent a week or more in California, Colorado. Oklahoma, virginia/dc, Japan, new Mexico, Dominican republic, etc.
I'd be perfectly happy living here the rest of my life (I'm only 25 so hopefully that's quite a while). |
No, I was not born here. God willing, it will be where I die.
My instructions are, cremate me, take me someplace nice, say a few good words, and make me one with the land forever. |
Been in VA my whole life. Never lived more than 30 miles of where i grew up. I love it here except for the whole commowealth thing. Car modifications are frowned on and get you frequent blue light specials.
Damn sure not me. I cant sit still very long.
I have lived in Germany, Texas, Kentucky, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, California, Alaska and Oklahoma. I have visited many countries. |
other then the liberals, gun laws, Mexicans and welfare I live in the best state

Pretty much.
I can date my ancesters here in Virginia back to 1649. |

The US Navy caused me 5 years of being everywhere including both coasts, Japan, a lot of Asia, and every damn grid square on the Pacific Ocean
Other than that, I've always lived in Louisiana and have no desire to move. |
I've spent months at a time working in other states but always called this place home.
Washington
New Jersey Maryland Pennsylvania New York Massachusetts (current) |
Born and raised and still live in Arizona. I doubt I'll ever leave...The wife talks about relocating to her home state of Colorado after our son heads off to college (he'll be a sophomore this fall). I think a move would be good...Just not to Colorado, but instead to the White Mountain area right here in beautiful AZ.

Texas. No need to live anywhere else. This....All 28 years...I have places I would like to visit, but I waited years to be where I am now and I cant see myself living anywhere else. |

My list of where I've lived:
Washington Texas Oregon California New Jersey Oklahoma Kentucky Germany Not necessarily in that order. |

I have no reason to leave my home state of CA
states are like little countries |
Not even close. I'm glad too, I've been to nearly three dozen countries(lived in a couple for more time than I cared to) and been(read lived) all over the country. Iowa is pretty cool though.
I have lived in Missouri my whole life. 55 years! I have traveled all over North America but Missouri is home to me.
Yep.
Toyed with the idea of leaving for the last ten years though.

I think even if I was living in the best state in the US, if I had never been out, I'd still want to explore. Anybody here lived in one state their whole life? GA, 43 (almost) years. Been to probably 20-ish states, probably the same number of countries (+/-). While there are things I like better about other states and some countries, as a package (including family) I prefer to stay here. 2nd choice would probably be Sydney. Wife would like to live in Colorado. |
I live 5 miles from the hosp I was born in. 40 years. A few homes but always right here.

Aside from a couple years in Texas in the Army, I've been in Rhody my whole life. I think i'll be in Florida before too many more winters go by though...
Grew up in Nevada, then lived in Georgia, North Carolina, and Alaska in that order. Aside from Nevada, I lived in Alaska the longest. I hated it. Now I'm back in Nevada. Love it here, but I'll probably end up moving to Arizona or Colorado late this year or early next year. We'll see.

Texas. Been all over the U.S., I made the right choice staying right where i fell out of my momma.
