Occasional thin film substrates for microwave hybrids. We're slowly getting out of substrates. Looking for a decent vendor. Actually, we more typically use microinches. No particular reason.

I do. Mostly done in thin film deposition and sputtering processes.

I do. I work in the semiconductor business, and was a thin films/sputtering process engineer. For those wondering, 1 angstrom = 1/10th of a nanometer, or 1E-10 meters. Pretty small, really [:)]

Mathematically speaking any length can be measured in angstroms. You can also measure a molecule and give the answer in AU's (astro. units) if it suits your purpose. All depends on how it needs to be visualized and what the application is.

I do occasionally, more often in microns or nanometers, though. Angstroms for layer thicknesses, microns or nanometers for width and distance measurements. I do IC failure analysis. I spend plenty of days looking through a microscope of one type or another.

I used to do sputtering and silicon and germanium epitaxy, but most of that stuff was outsourced a few years ago. I moved into IC design to remain gainfully employed. I sorta miss working with deadly 100KW RF generators and the most toxic chemicals known to mankind...
