Am I the only one out there who doesn't have a Facebook account?

ITT: People who scorn social networking socially networking about not having social networking.

Wasn't it Don Corleone in the Godfather who said "Never let anyone outside the family know what your thinking" maybe there's some wisdom there?

I don't have time to waste on facebook. if someone's wants to talk to me, then call/text or stop by. Unfortunately, most of the people that I want to interact with are only the ones I see everyday; coworkers and family. It sucks not to keep in touch w/ old friends, which is the only use for social networking I see.

I don't. Just not into that kind of thing. You, me, and Sen John Mccain. |
No Facebook or any other so-called social site. I waste enough time on arfcom... |
The wife finally nagged me into creating one. I did it on my phone. I didn't even get it completely registered (had to send a confirmation email or something) and I figured I'd finish at home on the computer. I got home 2 hours later and had 13 friend requests from people I kind of knew, but didn't really want to be in contact with and I realized that's what Facebook would be like. Jerking off in front of the world and if you shut your door on anyone who wants to watch, they get butt hurt and awkward. So I just deleted the thing.

Need to know only. I'll decide who needs to know what about me. No picture or personel info on the interweb.
Delete after reading. Twittering: for twits, by twits |

I don't either. No facebook, twitter or myspace. Don't have any of that shit either |

Its a bad idea for professionals to have FB or Myspace accounts.
No Facebook??? You guys are the same ones that don't text huh?
The wife facebooks all the time. Most of my friends do too and have been bugging me to get on board. I finally created an account but I dont do much with it.
ETA: I dont use my real name and all my privacy settings are set to friends only. |
no faceplace, or mybook for me... Just another way for some crazzy exs to get ahold of me....

Non of that crap! I worry about the info that goes out on this site.

I eschew that juvenile faggotry on principle. I have just adopted a new answer to the OP's question! Thank you, Col.! |

I was pretty drunk one night and signed up for Facebook as a result. That lasted about 12 hours when I cancelled it the next morning.
If I'm interested in talking to people from the past or present, I'll call them directly. |

NO
I can understand some small part of it but from what I have seen with my kids (all 21+) its wasteful BS and putting your business in the street where it can only be used against you in some form or fashion. In most things I have to ask the question- Where is the upside of this activity or act? |

It's kinda ghey. I have a facebook account. I also have an account for this web forum, although I don't post much cuz it's kinda ghey... |
Nope. If I ever end up "on the News" those damn reporters are going to have to work for someone to give them the "he was always such a quiet man" quote.
No Myface, no Spacebook, no Facespace, no Mybook, no Tweeterface, none of them.
I don't. I'm pretty sure nobody wants to know what I'm up to and I know for sure I really don't care what anyone else is up to.
No SpaceFace here, nor will there ever be.
Certainly not for anyone with a shred of privacy, radar avoidance, or low-profile living. |

I don't either. No facebook, twitter or myspace. Same here, I'm not what you would call a social networking kind of guy. |
