I have in laws in rural Mississippi and have on a few occasions packed a long gun in the car, either for a last minute hunt or just in case, either way, I was wondering how many do it routinely?
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:23:33 AM EST
Aye.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:24:42 AM EST
my trunk is full of dead hookers, no space.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:24:54 AM EST
12 ga.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:25:23 AM EST
Underfolder AK under the rear seat of my truck in a block of foam I cut out for it and magazines. That is the minimum plus a handgun. I usually bring more guns if I travel and plan on shooting.

My truck gun is a Rossi '92 lever gun, stainless, in .45LC.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:26:36 AM EST
Shotgun usually, sometimes a bolt gun during deer season. Used to carry a cut down British Enfield for the longest time when I was younger.

Carry a AR on the backseat, but as of next year it will have to be a 12g. Fuck You Cuomo
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:28:00 AM EST
always an AR in my truck.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:28:16 AM EST
Aye.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:29:16 AM EST
I carry an AR and a 870 when I travel.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:29:58 AM EST
I do most of the time.

I've been pulled over for speeding with this sitting in the passenger seat. No big deal.

Wife's family has a cabin in Idaho. I always throw an AR in the trunk just in case.

We also have a travel trailer and do a lot of camping year round. I always have at least an AR and handgun or two.

and blow!

ETA: I always take 2 handguns when I travel across state lines. The only time I travel with a long gun is when I plan on hunting or going to the cabin.

I keep a Smith&Wesson M&P 15-22 in the trunk of my car at all times with 200 rds of ammo. as well as a go bag with food and water and supplies for 7 days.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:33:24 AM EST
Any road trip is accompanied by an AR and handguns. Drove an hour and a half to my brothers for Thanksgiving and my carbine went right along with us.

I regularly kept my underfolder AK in my truck. Then i bought a Jeep, and only had it to and from my home and office. Then I moved to Virginia, and got a job I can't exactly carry a long arm into the office - so it stays at home most of the time, now.

I'd love to find a good, solid mount for the roll bars, but it's not high on my priorities list.

Sub-2000 in a 'Mumbai bag' routinely, real rifle when road tripping.

I also keep a blow out kit in a tear away pouch on the back of the passenger seat headrest.

870 Tactical in my police rack mounted to my roll bar.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:41:43 AM EST
I carry an AR in most places. If I am going to California I take the M1 Garand.

I agree. Not many other places I could live.

I always have an AR with 6 magazines in my car - no matter what the destination. And yes, I frequently travel outside of my beloved Virginia.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:45:26 AM EST
I throw an AR and a few mags in my vehicle when I go out of town.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:46:57 AM EST
I may or may not pack away my M-4orgery on vacation.

When I am on a road trip I take a Glock 20. My vehicle has no trunk so I wouldn't want to leave a carbine in it even if I stop for lunch.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 11:57:02 AM EST
Instead of a go-bag I carry a go-truck. I tow a vehicle behind my truck that has guns, ammo, food, water, fuel, cloths, first aid.

I'm afraid of everything and i'm sure everyone is out get me when I drive.

When I am headed into the woods that I know are frequented by weirdos, a 12g or AR.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 12:06:14 PM EST
Maybe...
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 12:06:59 PM EST
I don't at the moment, I had a break in, and still need to get the door fixed so its not super easy to get into my car

If I go fifty miles or farther from home AR goes with me. You never know.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 12:13:16 PM EST
I've kept a No.4 Mk.1* and a cheapo Stevens 350 12ga back there, or sometimes an M1 Rifle, and occasionally an Ishapore 2A.

Generally, this is only if I'm expecting to be a significant distance from home for more than a day or so, though.

I generally prefer the Enfield, M1, or Ishy, because they can go from completely empty (CA requirement ) to fully loaded in a second.

I've been known to take an AR and an 870 on road trips. I've been known to swap the AR for an M-16 when those road trips took me to Memphis, TN.

Sure. Why not?

Only on long trips where we'll be gone for a few days.

Absolutely! If it wasn't loaded and ready to rock, it wouldn't be much more effective than a club.

Although perfectly legal in Northern Virginia I'm not sure that would play well here.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 12:31:58 PM EST
hell, I thought everyone carried an AR or an 870 behind the seat.
Link Posted: 12/15/2013 12:32:01 PM EST
Before 4/1/13 I carried an AR in my trunk.

It's a felony now

So now i store a Rem 1100 with 20" barrel in trunk...

You see... The rem 1100 isn't an assault weapon
