I'm not sure "Republican" is clearly defined enough anymore, so I'm a self described Conservative / Constitutionalist that usually votes Republican.
Neither, but given the choices I'd vote Republican as the Dem's are lacking to me in about every way they possibly can.
Which is brighter the sun or the moon?
I doubt there are many Democrats here, and the 2 party system isa sham anyway, Where are the other choices...... |
Somewhere to the right of Ghengis Khan.
Party means SHIT to me.I'll take a Zell Miller over a John McCain ANY day! I believe in minimal goverment, minimal Gov interference, and the Constitution as written/intended. |
I recently decided I am not one party over another. I am very conservative however. Things had been working well the way they were, it wasn't until the liberals started changing shit that people always bitch about the way things are. I remember the last time people bitched so much, I read about it in a book. It was called the American Revolution.

Conservative Democrat.
As in actually believing in a strong national defense and personal freedom (i.e. The Bill of Rights). There are some of us still around. |

asking this question on ARFcom makes about as much sense as asking it in an ACLU forum....but since I'm adding my $.02, I'll tell you what I believe in, and you tell me which way I lean....
1) I believe in the Constitution 2) I believe in a strong military, and that doesn't mean being the world police. 3) I believe in paying enough taxes to make our gov't run efficiently. 4) I believe America and Americans should ALWAYS come first 5) I believe in some form of God, but not organized religion. 6) I believe in helping those who cannot help themselves. The handicapped, the elderly, etc..... 7) I DO NOT believe in welfare for those able to work.....giving people "free money" only encourages them to do nothing. 8) I believe in strong, secure borders. 9) I do not get offended by prayers in schools, even though I would give my children the option to say them or stay silent. 10) I probably have more issues than this , but I won't bore you all any longer. So what am I ? I think I like certain qualities of both parties, but not all of any party's platform. Many times I want to take a Democrat's and a Republican's head and smack them together. |
This has got to be one of the dumbest polls on arfcom ever.
Not even a generic "Third Party" or "Neither" option? I'm closer to the Libertarian party than I am to the Republican party. |
I chose Republican given the VERY limited choices. Shitty poll BTW.
Bottom line though is that I no longer consider myslef a Republican. The days of Ronald Reagan are long gone and we are forced to choose between two separate versions of socialism and gov't control. Liberty is about to go the way of the dinosaur. What I do consider myself is a PATRIOT. And I no longer consider my gov't to be interested in the People or the good of the Nation. Just the accumulation of more power. |

I think the poll would have been better if it were in terms of "left or right," but I put down Republican. Even though I'd consider myself a Constitutionalist, that's how I vote.
+1, Libertarian all the way |
I vote for guns, regardless of anything else they may stand for
democrats want laws that will send gun owners to prison or make them give up their guns.
So, I want all democrats in forced labor camps. At the very least. |
I just became a drjarheadican
Seems like the way to go Now if this would just get some legs GM
Wow, you're generous. |
Neither. It depends on the subject at hand. I'm registered Independent.
I'm independent. However, I tend to vote Republican because of the 2A.
What I am personally and what I am politically are two different things. Personally I am conservative, anti-drug, anti-abortion (in my life, family etc). Politically I am a freakishly extreme Libertarian.

I'm on the side that thinks the other side is out to take away my rights.
I'm on the side where the politicians are not corrupt greedy bastards that only think about themselves. I'm also on the side that thinks the media is on the other side. Let not forgot the most important part... My side is the correct side to be on, because the other side is brainwashed and drinks the party coolaid. |
I pretty much think along these lines. My stand on Roe Vs Wade is simply that the government does NOT have the authority to get involved in such personal matters. |
