Anthracite

Black

Wheels will be going on a Silver 2010 Tacoma TRD Off-road.

Silver or polished aluminum.
Link Posted: 4/24/2016 10:00:57 AM EDT
Between these two choices - Black.

My taste in wheels seems to prefer lots of contrast, or an absolute minimum.
Kinda depends on the particular vehicle.

I like the Anthracite.

Every one has black wheels.

It's getting a bit tired. (no pun intended)

Toss up for me, so I'd follow the path of least expense.

Neither.  SIlver truck needs brighter wheels.

It's beyond played out.

They were cool back in 2008-2009.

I remember Rob having them on his Tahoe on Rob & Big back in 08-09 ish
Link Posted: 4/24/2016 10:29:26 AM EDT
Of those two I'd go Anthracite - I don't like black wheels (the wheels on my truck are Silver).

I have black rims on my 4Runner TRD, and they look great with the tan paint.

Save the money from buying wheels and save towards a real truck

There are some vehicles/colors that look great with black wheels, not feeling them on that truck.

I put bronze wheels on my black Tacoma, love the look although I get that it isn't for everybody.

That truck anthracite.

I have a 13 Taco with black rims but it's a white truck.
Link Posted: 4/24/2016 11:18:31 AM EDT
Those wheels are fugly imho.

search of taco wheels on ebay churns out a million better lookin choices.

Black on black wheels look stupid. There's no contrast. Contrast makes cars look interesting. It's why Chrome is so awesome.

And whitewalls, but I wouldn't be caught dead with white walls on my Taco

In this case I'd stick with brushed aluminum or gunmetal
Link Posted: 4/24/2016 11:22:27 AM EDT
Silver, gun metal, aluminum. You get the point.

Black looks awesome on some cars/trucks, some it looks horrible.

I went with a "hybrid" black/polished wheel on my 06.

And this is how you act when the bad Toyota touches you in the wrong places folks.

Maybe that is his dream truck? Maybe he saved for a long time to buy it? Maybe he bought it because it'll have a MUCH higher resale value over whatever POS you're driving? Maybe it'll last twice as long as yours?

But hey, keep that Toyota hate strong!

Mine is the opposite. I like the anthracite. It 'fits' the paint job on the truck. The tires already contrast. The gray rims make the black tires an accent.
Link Posted: 4/24/2016 12:29:44 PM EDT
For the silver lovers they do make the wheel in silver but IMO it looks too "stock." They do look nice though.

Link Posted: 4/24/2016 12:31:51 PM EDT
Black looks a cheap rattlecan plastidip.
Link Posted: 4/24/2016 12:34:42 PM EDT
Here is my reason for getting new wheels. The truck came with Gen 1 Taco wheels and the paint is peeling.

Link Posted: 4/24/2016 1:01:53 PM EDT
Yeah those wheels that are on there are ugly.  The anthracite ones look good on everything.  Black looks like shit on everything.

Owner two Toyotas and they were both junk and cost a lot of money and had shit resale, so yeah, I guess they touched me wrong.

Funny I have those same factory 5 spoke wheels and the silver FJ TRD wheels for my Tacoma. 2004 TRD.

Both look fine to me.  I'd stick with the 1st gen wheels which I have on my tacomer.  If I was going to replace them I'd go with 15 inch black steelies though.
