What he said.

BTW, I've had a Wilson that held up great over the past 15 years, much of the time through some poor weather on my motorcyle.  Just don't expect the softest of leathers.

WORD!  They're both pretty sweet.  Wilson is having a 50% off sale, I'm leaning more towards the Car Coat as well..........pretty darn sweet.

I just bought a Wilson leather bomber style jacket and really like it. The only problem I have with it is it is made in China. I looked around to see if I could find somethning made in America but that was a loseing cause.

My husband and I ride a HD and always had bought our leathers through the local HD shop untill I discovered Easy Riders stores. Beautiful leathers at a much better price! His last jacket I bought him was twice the leather for half the money. Well worth a look at the website.

Vanson Leathers are, I believe, still made in the USofA.  Real stuff.  Some of the best but not cheap.

Mine is a motorcycle jacket but I think they make blazer style too.

In Europe, black leather blazers are what LOTS of folks wear on the street.  Especially women.  In Madrid lots of tall, thin, good-lookin' women.

Does it come with one of those cool snap-together coat hangers like the Gestapo guy in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" had?  [:D]

Got a Wilson, it seems real soft to me and it's nice and warm - the only coat I wore all last winter.  Inside the left breast is a nifty cell-phone holder as well.

Mine has the nifty cell phone pocket also but when you take the liner out all you have is that flimsy pocket that you cant close to hold the phone.

I like Schott brand leather.  Sort of hard to find.

I'd like to find a US made product but it's pretty hard to find.  I'd feel good about it even if it was China but wouldn't want a product from a Muslim country such as Pakistan or something.  I've seen my share of cheap leather jackets hocked by Turks in Italy.....

I'm with the Cowhide Car Coat, I like the collars.

Any other sources for the same style jacket like the car coat?

I have been eyeing one of those Coronado Concealment Leathers from California.
Anybody have any feedback on them?
I have been looking at the American Touring Jacket. www.coronadoleather.com/store/img/img/J90.jpg

My wife thinks the black would look best on me! It is almost Christmas!

I got a nomex Marine helicopter flight jacket from the Uniform Supply at Carswell JSRB in Ft. Worth, TX last year.  I'll get the number off it when I get home and post it.  It's a great jacket.

Heh, well being 16, and a little more fashion conscious than all you old guys out there ;-) I would highly recommend the 2nd one.  They are both nice coats, but the 2nd one is by far the better of the two.

Just kidding about the old guy part up there.

I have 2 jackets from Wilsons, both are M. Julians.  Actually, one of them is very similar to the 2nd one you listed, very nice jacket when youre all dressed up.  The chicks love the leather jackets.  Just stay away from the god damn leather pants please.  Heh, those things are horrible, unless you're riding.

If you want a sweet Chicago leather PD jacket I know a place that has them cheap but very well made. I have had mine for about 5 years and I love it!! It is the thickest jacket I ever had it keep me warm in the -40 weather that we had a few years ago.

Just some info on it if you get it the think is heavy as all hell when you hold it but when you place it on you can't feel the weight. It well set you back maybe $150 at the most.

Oh what the hell.

I've got a SWEET heavy duty CHP style riding jacket.

Had it custom made at Al's Leather in Ventura, Ca. when I was 19 years old.  It's cut to fit someone who is 6'4 with a 54" chest, 38" waist, 18.5 " biceps, and 35" reach.

I saw a jacket similar in quality and construction selling for 525 bucks at a motorcycle shop a couple of years ago.  Mine is just collecting dust in the closet.  What should I ask for it?

It's got some minor abrasion on the top left shoulder from a get-off, stitching is intact, though.

Here are the label details from the one I got from Carswell JRB Uniform Supply:

Jacket, Flyer S CWU 45-P
Mil-1 38844A  XL
Stock# 8515-00-320-1135
RN 57735
Chicago, IL

The color is OD.

If you call Uniform Supply they can take phone orders.  You don't need a military ID to order the jacket.

The sleeves are a little bit to short for me but the rest would probably fit. I am 6'7" with 38" arms. I thought I might have found me a less expensive jacket.

My ex worked at Wilsons and I have multiple coats from their stores.  I havent had a problem with any of them.
