What comes first for you?
God, family (parents/children) or Country? Thanks for your input. IBTP |

Family.
Everything else sorta jumbles around underneath that. |
|
God will forgive me for putting family first, and country second.

the resident athiests are going to have a hard time with this poll. |

Not a fair question. To me, my children are God's love incarnate. Absolute proof that there is a God and that he does indeed love me.
There is no difference between God and Family as far as I'm concerned. |

Family, pets, country.
If there is a God, I'm sure he can take care of himself. |
|
1. God
2. Family 3. Country I think the existence of each is dependent on the previous. |

There is no difference between God and Family as far as I'm concerned. I imagine Abraham felt the same way about Isaac... where did Abraham's first loyalty lie? One could even argue (dismissing trinitarian concerns for a moment) that God may have felt the same about Jesus, yet sacrificed Him/allowed Him to sacrifice Himself for the likes of us. What wondrous love... |

Family first. Yep, except for Dad, he ran off with a road whore, so he's on his own. |

Hypothetically let's say that one of your children put you in a position that in order to save their life/freedom you had to break one of God's laws. What if your daughter were pregnant and wanted to get an abortion what would come first God's word against murder or your daughter's desire to get the abortion? What if your teenage son had made a mistake and stolen something of high value felony type & you found yourself in a position to lie for him and hide the crime to keep him out of trouble what would you do? |

Honor, family, friends, liberty and humanity.
I have loyalty to the country only as far as it goes to protect liberty. |

Family, followed closely by family...with family bringing up the rear.

Honestly…
God obviously doesn’t need my help. When I (and most people) talk about putting God first we are talking about the things of God. We mean we put justice, mercy, decency and morality above all. I wouldn’t commit some grave injustice to another person to protect a family member. And I wouldn’t unjustly kill someone because my country told me to do so. Family, (including certain friends who have become de facto family) get total support from me unless they ask me to do something horribly wrong. I wouldn’t turn one in for smoking dope, but I would for molesting a child. Country can mean one of two things… The United States is based on certain ideals, which I believe are founded in basic morality. The support for these ideals is the real reason our nation exists. We aren’t an ethnic state, we are a nation that exists to promote certain principles and freedom. The support for these things is the support of God and ultimately my family too. But, when the nation stops promoting those ideals and starts opposing it, then it loses it’s real reason to exist. It becomes merely another oligarchy using nationalism to maintain control over the people. I’m not saying we are there yet, just that a lot of people in power are trying to move us in that direction. If things ever get to that point… Well, most people in history have lived under that kind of rule so I wouldn’t see any reason to run out and fight it. But I also wouldn’t have any reason to support the nation either. |

1. What if your daughter were pregnant and wanted to get an abortion what would come first God's word against murder or your daughter's desire to get the abortion? 2. What if your teenage son had made a mistake and stolen something of high value felony type & you found yourself in a position to lie for him and hide the crime to keep him out of trouble what would you do? 1. I would try to talk her out of it. If she were to proceed with an abortion, I would still love her and God will forgive her. I don't see the point of asking that question. Free will and Gods forgiveness are an assurance for conundrums. God gave us "rules" but he knew no one could keep 'em all, hence Him sending Jesus to die on teh cross for all of man's sins. The 10 commandments are just a "good moral code" to abide by. If you break one, you are NOT doomed to hell or anything. 2. No, he is responsible for his actions. Hopefully I would've raised him better than to succumb to the temptation of stealing. |

what does country mean?
The USA, as defined by the US Constitution? The USA, as it actually is? The USA, as what its going to be? |
