What type of gun owner are you? The type that is only interested in his collection, the self defense handgun guy/ gal, the shooter/ plinker, the hunter, or the SHTF/ TEOTWAWKI stockpiler?

E, all of the above?

Looks like you need a poll.

All of the above.

And you forgot the "gunsnob."

Is it time to add a new category: Accumulator?

Not nearly the prestige as being a "Collector", but with the possiblity of a greater inventory. Plus, you don't mind arming the neighborhood should it turn out you were inadvertantly also prepping for SHTF/TEOTWAWKI!

Wow! I'm actually quite surprised by this, so far the number of survivalists is nearly double the number of hunters. No big surprise in the percentage of targeters though.

Isn't SHTF/TEOTWAWKI stockpiler a form of self defense? [;)]

Checked them all. But like Beekeeper, I think that collector would be at the bottom of the list. I've only have one gun that I won't shoot.

I checked them all though, because I have guns that I bought just to fill each niche. I love my hunting rifles and plinkers, just as much as I do my collectable guns (gun?) and my "SHTF" guns.

Each one serves a purpose.

All but hunting.  (Always seemed to be a lot of work for something I could buy cheaper.  Must be something to it but beats me).

BTW, you left out competition shooting.

I put everything but hunter. I thought I was a collector but from the responses here it seems to indicate that you don't shoot what you collect. I shoot everything I own, but I like to collect WWII and WWII rifles. Maybe I'm just an accumulator with an emphasis on WWII and II stuff.
I'm not serious in any of the categories, just happy!

I'm not a hunter or a collector.

The rest apply, and I seem to acumulate.

All of the above, except hunter.

I guess I would be all of the above, SHTF/TEOTWAWKI is not a priority, but more of a result of all the others combined.

I like the accumulator idea.

SHTF/TEOTWAWKI

OK, Sh$t Hit The Fan / what?

That is just one hell of an akronym.  What's it mean?

I actually have mine mostly for political reasons.  Well, at least that is why I started.  I checked collector cause I don't shoot as much as I should, don't really have them for defense, don't hunt, and don't believe all my guns will be that useful during SHTF, only really need 1 or 2 and a lot of ammo.

So, collector it is.  But you should have a box for politically motivated.

My son is home on leave from Germany (E-6. about to reenlist for his third hitch). He has bought 2 guns in seven days, and is a real nut not far from the tree. We both shoot, stock pile, horde, carry and generally enjoy all that we own. No collection unfired guns here.

You can't rightly call me a collector, as that implies some kind of method or plan.  Hmm...accumulator is more like it.
