Time to buy some new cotton khakis and/or chinos, and I'm running out of brands I like.
We're business casual at work, and I like wearing all cotton khakis and chinos, flat front, preferably wrinkle resistant. I have fairly muscular legs, so I need "relaxed" fit pants.
My go-to brands used to be Gap and Eddie Bauer. Lately, Gap has changed the way their khakis fit, and even the "relaxed" fit is too tight in the seat and legs, and they now sit lower at the waist. Eddie Bauer relaxed fit khakis still fit o.k. (although they sit a bit lower at the waist), but the quality of the material seems like it went downhill; the darker colors fade quickly, and I find myself wearing out the material in the rear by my wallet.
I tried LL Bean, but their relaxed fit (they call it "natural" fit) has too much of a tapered leg, which seems like a dated cut to me. I prefer more of a straight leg.
So, what else is out there? By the way, I've been 180 pounds with a 33" waist for the past 5 years, so it's not me that is the problem.
ETA: Another thing I liked about Eddie Bauer, you could pick a custom tailored length. My inseam is 31". Not sure why most manufacturers think guys legs come in 2 inch increments.
