My car needs new tires before I give it back (lease is up soon).

I normally get them at the dealer, but is there any other way?

Do I have to put the EXACT tires on to return it?

The leasing company won't know or care what tires are on it or were on it before. I'm not sure they would even care unless you are past the wear bars.

I have used tire rack a lot, but after shipping and getting a shop to install, it is usually no less than Sam's, but with a lot more hassle and waiting.

Discount Tire or Express tire are cheap local joints.

Cheap? Try WalMart.

ETA:

They usually have single/two leftover tires from their stock that they sell at a discount to clear them out.

If you have a full size spare, use that - one less tire to buy

If you have a junk yard near you, check there for tires. My locall pull-a-part sells tires with steel wheels for $11.48 apiece.
