Hey guys, I just received several ammo cans from Weidners to store several thousands of rounds of ammo. Where can I get some desiccant packets to put in the cans to keep the ammo dry? What size(s) desiccant packets should I be looking for? Thanks for the help.

I get mine from local industrial export packaging company. I also get VCI (Vapor Corrosion Inhibitior) wrapping, cannisters, etc.. from them. They have small self-stick VCI foam that work real nice for reloading die boxes. Check your yellow pages.. would guess most packagers will sell to you at reasonable prices as they buy in large quantities.

Go to Walmart, Garden Ridge or a craft store that sells dried flowers and related craft supplies. You can buy that stuff by the 1 to 5 pound bag for cheap.

I put it in old socks or pantyhose in appropriate quantities for protecting firearms and ammo from moisture.

Check with your local Pro Audio Video shop. I manage installations at one, and just about every projector, lens, lamp, amp, etc. will have some with it. normally it just gets thrown out. If they have a service department, that would be a good place to start.
Otherwise I think Campmore and Cheaper than dirt sell it.

your local storage unit should also have some. you might need to rig your own container for the beads of dessicant, but it should still work.
