It's a Ford Glockmobile, in unexploded condition!   That's rare!

My friend had a '74.

Despite a few vacumn hoses missing in the engine, and eternal check engine light on, and ocassional smell of antifreeze burning in the passenger compartment, it ran like a top.

I've never seen black ones.  That's interesting.

All the traffic signals around here are yellow.

ETA: Got beat by 22 secs.

Are you sure? I hade a few pinto's and several mustang II's and none of them had 'check engine' lights.

Used to see a fucked up leaning to the right one all the time.  Looked like the left side had shocks that were 6" to high on it.... Was until the most giant slob piece of land whale shit waddled out to it and got in it.  That fat fuck was pushing 600lbs, felt sorry as hell for the car but it righted it and made it lean a bit to the left once he got in.

lol.  Me and 3 buddies took that exact same car (some baby puke blue one) from Ohio to Daytona Beach during spring break our senior year.  We didn't bother to make reservations and couldn't get a hotel so we camped that bitch right on the beach our first night.

Being from Ohio, we knew nothing of high and low tides and the car ended up in the ocean the very first morning.  With one guy in it still asleep.  It was a bitch to get it back out but we did and found a hotel that day...had a great vacay and it got us back ok.  Didn't lose our friend either.

The Pinto is a terrible choice though for 4 reasonably large young guys to take on a trip that long though.

I think that is a 73 pinto. You know the exploding ones? I drove one in the 80s. It was painted with latex white semi gloss with a roller.

My name, TurboniumOxide means, "Rusted out VW"

Saw 2 last weekend at a car show (yes, Pintos at a classic car show).

The one in your picture has the wheels off a late 80s Mustang GT on it. Wonder what other mustang parts are lurking around on that pinto.

The two I saw were immaculate, one had a 2.3 SVO motor with a bigass hairdryer on it, the other had a 351.

I have a 74. I also raced them on dirt for 4 years. Lighten em up and make some engine mods and they are fun cars.

I think Ford lost more money on that car than they ever made due to the gas tank lawsuits. That was a sad time, cars were shit, economy was shit, attitudes were shit, and the president was shit.

In the last month I have seen an omni, a pinto, a vega, a citation and a colt.  I cannot figure out where these damn things are coming from.  I think some idiot divided by zero at a junkyard.  These cars have no right to stil exist in coastal towns on the gulf of mexico!!

Awesome round track cars in the 4 cylinder class.   I know a guy that hit the wall in turn three so hard that it shoved the trans through the floor of the car. Man that piece of shit was fast.

The fast Pinto is the one in my neighborhood with a 351 Cleveland stuffed in it. Crazy, but FAST.

My dad had a Pinto when he met my mom, and convinced her to sell her old (but very badass) Barracuda to get a new Pinto too.

The fact that they survived long enough for me to be born is a miracle unto itself!

(In my dad's defense, he also owned a Harley in high school, and had a Mustang he had to sell when he moved from Nevada to Germany when in the Air Force before he met my mom- he was living lean in the Pinto days!).

"Caution : This car explodes in impact!"
