Not soon enough.  Rap is crap but then some people can be suckered into thinking a pile of shit is pop art.

All the good rappers have either died, turned to actors, or went legit.  The current crop are nothing but golden toothed thugs out hustling a buck.

Rap music is a fad, just like these horseless carriages you see on our streets...  Neither will stand the test of time.

When it stops being a billion dollar industry.
What sort of music do you listen to?  I'm sure there's some one out there that thinks your style of music sucks ass.

the people that listen to rap are reproducing faster and in more numbers, than the people that do not listen to rap. So the question should be....will Country Western/ Rock/ White Guy music ever go away?

Never.  Unfortunately, it is, in a way, like Heavy Metal.  I like Metal and Hard Rock and about twenty years ago folks wanted metal and hard rock to die.  It didn't, it got larger.  Rap is just like that except it is lagging behind a couple of years.  It ain't going anywhere as long as it keeps pissing people off, like me.  If there was a rap capital and I had the ability to nuke it from space, I would.  but that ain't going to happen.  I guess everyone needs something to hate and i hate rap, for the most part.

Sadly I think the quality of all genres of music are going down. You can only make so many rhymes about your girlfriend before it's all be done before.

But Rush is STILL TOURING.

Primarily I happen to feel that the entire genre is an aural representation of a culture who's values I find myself at complete odds with.

Kanye West can suck start a revolver, now THAT would sell.

Jay-Z has talent, Eminem has talent, Curtis Jackson has talent, everything else is pretty much a bunch of fuckwits with autotune talking about big rims on shit cars and fat girls at the mall.

Fuck rap music, I spent the entire day listening to local country as in shit that never made it out of Texas. Some of the artists weren't "great" but the fucking music itself was kick ass because it meant something unlike a bunch of overpaid dickwads (country, rock, rap, etc) singing shit someone else wrote.

I really doubt rap will go away any time soon.  Like most music it will keep evolving and just be in a different form 50 years from now.  But I dont see it going away for a long long time.

Not soon enough for me! Goddam noise pumping out of pimped out cars, that ignore EVERY traffic law on the road.

If I was a cop, I'd just listen for the cars with rap music coming out of them, and follow them for a block or two.

Sure as hell, they will break a traffic rule, giving you a legal reason to pull them over.

Check their eyes...ask a few questions...that will give you PC to search the car. The chances of finding drugs and/or alcohol are...what? 99.8%?

Nope. Country is the fastest growing genre amongst 18-24 year olds and is the most popular format across all ages.

Rap is full of lyrics that the majority (white people) of people who buy this crap can't even repeat out loud in public for racial reasons and just common decency. Question, for the people here defending rap, would you sit down with your children or mother and listen to rap.
