In my mind, I consider early July to late August kind of the "peak" of Summer.
I think today, for example, is kind of still in the 'peak' (8/20), but certainly in the back half and the end is in sight. By the time September rolls around, I start feeling the "Fall" presence more. Not just talking about weather or calendar dates, but the spirit of Summer - where everybody is out on the water enjoying it Yes I know technically that 6/21 is the longest day of the year, but the Summer atmosphere continues until about a week or two from now. I just love the Summer atmosphere and every time it's over I start counting the days until next Summer |

In my mind summer never ends. Because fuck winter.
*Slowly rocks back and fourth* Summer never ends. |

When we leave for elk season. We turn the pumps off on the way out, no more farming left for the year.

In my little corner of the US, summer doesn't start until July 5th and runs through September.
Once in a while, the rains will hold off during the first couple of weeks of October, but then, inevitably, The Wet comes back. ETA: It's 95 here right now, unusually warm for this area. |

The first night of the first cold front.

It's already getting cold in So CO. We get rained on daily too.

June/July/August = Summer to me.
Dec/Jan/Feb Winter Mar/Apr/May Spring You might notice a trend. |

One morning I step out of the house to head to work, and I grudgingly go back and get my light jacket.
That day starts "Fall". Thing is, in Texas "Fall" goes something like summer winter winter summer summer summer winter winter summer winter summer summer winter winter winter summer winter. Then it's just winter. |

When the pool is too cold to swim in. That is about Labor Day

I imagine it would depend a lot on your latitude. Somebody in Brownsville or Miami would have a much different idea about it than someone in Sault-Ste. Marie.

Quoted:
Sept. View Quote This for NH- though it's usually still summer time hot for a few days a week in early Sept. End of September is the most beautiful time of the year in New England, IMO. Crisp 50s in the morning, warms up to 60s by lunch, and clear deep blue skies from low humidity. |

For many years, because of my job, I considered summer to be from mid March to early September. Later that changed to be early August. Now that I'm retired I consider the end of summer to be late September |

Summer? I suppose it's when the youngins go back to school...
...but really, I don't think in terms of seasons |

I stopped thinking about such things when I graduated college.
I would think that the only people it would matter to are teachers, students, parents with kids or people with beach houses. |

I work nights.
Fall starts when I have to wear a sweater at night. Winter starts when I have to wear a jacket at night. |

Living in the south, our summer is long.
The unofficial end of the summer is Labor Day. The real end is around the 20th of September. In SC, it can go into October. |

Whenever it gets cool (sub 90s) for an extended time.
We had an early spring (4wks early), seems like fall is here 4 wks early too |
|
Labor Day for me.
I figure Summer runs from Memorial Day till Labor Day. |
|
Labor Day it usually swings over to hoodie weather. September and Octover are the best 2 months of weather of the year in the Midwest. Deer hunting, cool air, no humidity, etc.
