Ill never forget the first time i saw a black rifle in person i was 11 i think and i was over my uncles house he was a police officer and he loved guns probably his biggest hobby so when i learned he had an Ar15 i had to see i begged and begged for 3 hours to see it and finally he took me down to his basement took it out of safe and from that moment on i was hooked i had to get one no matter the cost from that day forward that was the one thing i wanted so finally after turning 18 moving away from my parents i got one but just one for now but it will never end .

How many Ar15s will be enough i am already planning on buying another by feb. Damn black rifle disease is worse than a crack addiction.

i bought my first one last yea and dammit my wife wasnt gonna let me shoot it cause it was for me for chirstmas but i couldnt resist the urge and had to play with it.

I was highly resistant, the first center fire rifle I ever fired was an SP1, at about age eight, then joined the Army, managed to handle and fire them constantly for four years, and had no desire to own one. Years after discharged, my kid brother bought an M16 kit and a Bushy lower one saturday morning, brought it to me to help him build up later that afternoon (I found this site and it's wealth of info that very day), took a trip back to the gunshow just before closing to buy semi lower parts, went back home completed the build in 45 minutes, the next morning I was in line for the gunshow before it opened, another M16 kit, another Bushy lower, and more semi parts,. It hasn't let up since.

1988 when I joined the Army at the age of 17. That thirst was put on hold however when I became an M60 gunner in the 82nd. A 17 year old M60 gunning, paratrooper.

I was addicted!

I remember as a kid in around 1967 watching the evening news and they showed one of the
reporters firing one of the NEW M16's that was being used in Vietnam and he shoot a watermelon
and then a concrete block with it, both shattered in to pieces.
It realy made an impression on a 7 year old kid.

Been hooked ever since.

When CA banned them and forced me to buy 2 stripped lowers on my tiny sallary back then, then built them up slowly and pla on leaning the state so I can get more of them.......

Been into it by default (father/MarineCorps/Airforce/Police, brothers/MarineCorps/hunting, self/MarineCorps/ROTC/Scouts, etc etc) my whole life:
Same as P38 here, it was about 5 years after I got out ,........and Booniedawg had brought his PreB Olympic out a few times....I soon found a Colt....

Yep I still want to kick my brothers ass for dragging in that raggedy old M16A2 kit, his kit build has cost me a fortune.

ETA: To make the situation worse, he has something called self control, he loves his guns, but if he doesn't REALLY want one, he doesn't buy it, I have been wondering wich one of us belongs to the milkman.

I showed early signs of BRD when I was 12. Step dad had an AR but I never got to shoot it. VietNam movies of the era peaked my interest. Got my first AR at 30-31, it's been going down hill ever since.

I was hooked in the early '80's. Bought my first two AK's and an SP1 and I've still have found no cure for this disease (except buy another). Can you feel my pain?
