I want a semi beltfed, preferably in a surplus caliber ala x54r. I have no need for it to do anything more spectacular that shoot when I pull the trigger.

"Beltfed" and "inexpensive" are a contradiction of terms, even if it is just a semi-auto, my friend...

does not compute.

these two terms are not equal.

a cheap belt fed is an oxymoron.

Semi PKM's are only on the secondary market now, I believe. They don't come up for sale often. I think some one is making a SMG something or other now-a-days. I don't know who.

Even those guys are using semi-auto beltfeds now? Man, the ATF must be tough.

I tried just after 9/11 right after HS, they wouldnt take me due to my knee, although I wanted to fly choppers and not be a ground pounder. Now with a wife, kids and a mortgage no thanks even if I could get a waiver now.

There were semi auto MG42 clones available for around 2k a few years ago. Wideners had some. Not sure if there are any still floating around for sale.

ETA... my memory might be off. They might have been closer to 5k than 2k. I think they were pretty cheap though.

I've got a semi 1919 I built and a Razorback.

The 1919 was not too expensive, parts kits were pretty cheap a while back.

The Razorback was about $700, IIRC. You will need an AR lower to go with it, make sure the hammer doesn't have a notch in the top front.
