Must be Firearms related. And where did you get it from?

For me it has to be
#1 Aimpoint CompM with a ($129) Knights Mount for $75 total from Local Gun Show
#2 Soviet M44 + 600 rounds of Wolf ammo for $40 from Co-worker

Got my first AR15 from a guy at a gunshow. He was going to jail for failure to pay childsupport. Every buck he could find reduced his time. Bought a mint Colt Sporter Target Model for $400 with 2 20 round mags.

$6500 for a Barrett 82, NIB with Swarofski(SP) scope and 2 mags and case. 200 rounds of Barrett ammo included.

$175 for Sig p230, this gun was stolen via UPS after being chromed for $135. Got $500 from UPS!

THEN there is the fucking SAR8 that I bought for $1400 and ended up selling for $1200. The preban Colt HBAR for $1300. Worth about $800-1000 now.

I guess it evens out in the end.

Bought my Colt AR15 for $550 in late 1992. That included an handful of 20- and 30-round mags, a carrying case, and a cleaning kit.

Still have that baby. Cold, dead hands!

A Browning BL22 lever action .22 like new for $75.00 from a yard sale. I gave it to a friend. A Savage Model 1917 pistol in .32 ACP for $25.00 from an estate. I sold it for $350.00. A like new High Standard Model B .22 pistol in the original box with the sales tag for $25.00 from an estate. I got $400.00 for it. Excellent condition Winchester M94 .30-30 for $100.00. from a yard sale. I gave it to a friend.
A single decal camoflaged German M42 Helmet in complete and excellent condition for $10.00 from a yard sale. I sold it for $250.00. I know, not a gun but still a good find.
I've never been taken on a gun deal and I've been pretty lucky in finding deals to turn a good profit.

Aimpoint CompM with Aimpoint QR mount and spacer for $150. It was used but not abused.
Couple months after I get it the dot started to get dim so I sent it to Aimpoint and 4 weeks later they sent me a new unit saying the previous unit had defective riostat (sp?).

Yeah, that Aimpoint I got had a loose contact somewhere. (very hard to tell there was something wrong with it)I sent it to them in sweden a month ago, and I got it back today. Thats what actually inspired me to start this tread. Plus I think it could help people learn where to find kick ass deals from.
Anyway, Aimpoint fixed the switch for free and sent it back with express shipping. Awesome people to deal with!!!!

Pawn shopping in Biloxi Mississippi whilest TDY, found a Mossberg 500 slugster in great condition and a rather scarce Mossberg 200 in decent condition, walked out the door paying $230. I then went to trade the 500 (as I already had 2) for a custom 10/22 with scope and tons of work done to it. That Mossy 200 is quite an oddity and the 10/22 groups like a laser.

An excellent Sterling-made original ArmaLite AR180 with an original scope mount for $400 back in 1997. Neither he nor I really new what it was worth at the time. I had it Black-T'd at Birdsong and still have it.

Two come to mind.

First, a LIKE NEW Winchester 9422 XTR with the fancy walnut stock and a Weaver Rimfire Classic scope installed (the scopes are $100 plus new), with a nice carry case, for $200.00 cach and carry ata pawn shop in 2002.

Second, a nice fixer up LLAMA Max-I for $80.00 on an internet deal. Spent $40 refinishing it and replacing a couple parts, and its shooting 3" groups at 25 yards. Although a LLAMA hasn't hiccuped once and is now my glovebox gun.

A year ago my dad bought a Polytech "bakelite" side-folder (import date verified as 1988 by Kengs ) and an unopened case (1200 rounds) of Norinco 7.62x39 for $350.

After doing some research I learned that this rifle is the second rarest of all Polytechs and some collectors were glad to have paid $1200 for theirs.

Being on 3 of the local Fun shop Best customer list they call me when they get something
they know I'll like .

Last week it was a LNIB SAR-2 for $250 and a Wilson Combat UT-15
with an Aimpoint/PRI Mount and ARMS BUIS for $800 , Both look unfired as far
as anyone can tell .

The other shop sold me a like new DSA SA-58 and a Benelli M1-S90
for $700 a piece a few months ago .

The third shop is my handgun shop and they are responsible for the last 4 I bought .
All at what I considered a very good deal .

My biggest problem is once they let me fondle something ………. I can’t say no

------------------------------------ ETA -----------------------------------

Tragically ..... I lose them in boating accidents as fast as I buy them

One of my friend's neighbors was moving and they were having a garage sale... There was this old .22 single shot bolt outside, and I looked at it, the barrel was real bad, and I asked the guy if he had any other firearms for sale? He took me into the garage and opened up a metal locker and there was a few things in there, and he went through all the stuff he was keeping, and that was already packed and at his brother's house. In the locker was just basically another .22 and some of his kids air rifles, and a box. He takes the box out, opens it up and it's a Winchester Model 1300 Ranger (Shot barrel and slug barrel packaged together), I had been wanting a pump 12 gauge for a long time, and this was NIB. I told him I only had $50 cash on me, and that I would love to buy it, but I just didn't have enough money on me. He said... you 18? I nodded yes, he then said, well give me $50 and you can take it, I'll even throw in some ammo. He gave me 300 rounds of #8 winchester AA, a case of Remington .22, and a few odd boxes of .270. He said he just hadn't figured out what to do with it and didn't have enough room to take it with him in the UHaul. Man was I smiling that day. $50 wouldn't have even bought the .270 ammo.

1400rd case of 8mm Mauser for $80 cash. They were going for 85+ tax. I asked if he would take 80 cash (as he had mentioned he had a hard time moving them) and he accepted.

The guy outside the show, however, seemed to be smoking crack when we weren't watching. He wanted OBSCENE amounts of money for some of the ammo he was peddling. $50 for black talon 10mm, $20 for a box of Blazer, $15 for 9mm WWB, etc. His hunting ammo was even more insane.

One Christmas, I asked for a Dewalt 18V drill. I got the B&D Firestorm kit instead.

Well, during the post-Christmas craziness, the Lowes and Home Depot across from one another weren't keeping an eye on one another during liquidation time and were overly generous about returns.

I looked at both stores, and Lowes would give me $30 more in store credit for the firestorm , so I took them up on that.

I used my store credit to buy a Dewalt nail gun compressor that I noticed Home Depot was selling for $40 more. So I bought it and returned it to Home Depot and made my $40.

At Home Depot, I used my new store credit to buy a Dewalt 18V Drill-trim saw kit which I returned to Lowes because their kit was the same price, but were offerong the $20 the flashlight for free.

I didn't like the flashlight, since I already had the flex-head model, so I returned it (it was packaged separately) to Home depot for $20 in store credit which I used to buy a 4 D-cell maglight with batteries.

Yes, I felt good and like a thief at the same time.

I bought a toy spud gun ages ago for $5 AUD.

It is about 4 inches long, fashioned like a real pistol and shoots tenny bits of potato.

It is now banned for sale.

I feel so hardcore owning a pre-ban toy spud gun

It only shoots pieces, I seen the ones people make that shoot a whole one, you use carb cleaner in it.

The potato piece (about 1/2 an inch long and with a fuckin tiny diameter) is propelled when you squeeze the trigger, which pulls the whole barrel and front bit of the gun toward the back but, compressing the air inside and forcing the potato out.

Small bit of potato goes abotu 2m...

And im not joking about the banned for sale part

I think the homemade ones are illegal here too, but if you use carb cleaner I seen people get over a hundred feet, and bust windshields.

PVC pipe and a grill igniter.
