Im wondering in the AUG, but I dont know when they will have them. I figure I'll buy something now, next will be the AUG or an AK/Romak

Hrmm, then I suggest a Colt M4. If you want another .308 then I suggest a DSA FAL.

Check out SteyrAUG's thread in the EE for the M4.

Taxman, I thought you were poor like me (Guess I was wrong). If you have the cash, get an M4

Get a Romak-3 in .308. Or... IF you can find one in your price range a NDM-86 in .308.

After much thought about an getting an M4 I'm going to just get a Armalite midlength 16" regular barrel profile, with a birdcage flash hider, 6 position telescoping stock, flat top with fixed front sight.

My reasons for not getting M4
1.less velocity
2.I don't feel giving Uncle Marx $200 for tax stamp ($200 can go towards USP hi-caps)
3.Midlength viewed to be possibly a little more reliable and maybe a little less wear.

I really went back and forth with the M4 and midlength for months trying to decide.

I have not decided whether to get green or black.

Why would you need a tax stamp? A 14.5" M4 with permanently attached flash suppressor woudl require no tax stamp.
