Ya know, I was wondering if it was just me...since I've been squatting heavier weight, my butt has been getting bigger.

I guess this is a lift, pullups.  I am addicted to them.  I do 120 of them 3 times a week.  Is that sick or what?

That's out of alot of peoples range, palms inward, incorporates alot of major muscle groups.

Deadlifts!!!

Honorable mention would be front squats, back squats, and weighted dips.

For some reason, I really like the back extension machine.  (Reverse crunch.)   I do 305 pounds (the machine's max) for 40 reps,  and then go back and do another 20 reps.

The gym just got some extra weights to put on the stack, so I'll be cranking up my weights a bit.

Bicep curls,  pec flys, leg press,  ab crunch, leg curls, leg extension,  and the rest, I like them all because they all do me good.    Any time I go and can crank out more reps or the same number of reps
at a higher weight than the last time I went is a particularly good workout.   Most workouts, I do manage
to move forward on at least one machine or weight stack.    I'm maxing out  at least four machines now.

I'm working up to pull-ups but I'm a bit short on muscle and long on pounds right now.  I can manage ONE at a time and I weigh 200.   But it's better than ZERO and weighing 150.

I do 4 sets of 15 with a pronated grip in the morning, and 4 sets of 15 with a supinated grip in the afternoon.

My goal is to do sets of 30, so I am half way there.

[rant]After having been off for nearly half a year I'd have to say NONE!  I'm soo pissed at how much I've lost in a few short months.  Its gonna take me another couple of months just to get back to where I was this past summer.[/rant]

However, I'd have to say my fav. is Shrugs & Lats.

Favorite?... Got to be deadlift.

I compete (powerlifter) in the USAPL and when I approach the platform to squat or bench I'm thinking "stay focused, stay tight", when I'm deadlifting I'm thinking "This thing's mine!". I once deadlifted the back end of a Suzuki Samuri on a bet. I have good proportions to deadlift (and lousy to bench) still, I like all three of the powerlifts and don't do much else.

Favorite is a chest routine or bench presses.  My strongest is Legs, leg presses especially.  I hit a 1600lb max one time.  Just about threw up after that one

Good ole push ups are mine.  I like that "can't quite make this last rep-my pecs are going to explode-oh shit I'm going to fall on my face" feeling.  I usually do them after a full chest and and arms work out.

I like pushups, also, but I usually do mine on the weekend by themselves.  All my other workouts are during the week.  Saturday evening seems to be my time now.  I just keep doing them until I can't do anymore.  Last Saturday I did a total of 105; not all at one time; I did eight sets of 10 and then 5 sets of 5 for a total of 105.  It took me about 30 minutes all told.

I love dips.

Really anything for chest and triceps is fun because my chest and triceps have always responded well.

Curls on the other hand...  talk about a love / hate relationship.

I've really been concentrating on compound lifts and streching ONLY. I find thats sufficient over ones peak @45 where age starts to compromise flexiability and stamina n'both start to decline. You can always reduce , but its difficult to gain after your prime,IMO, w/o hormonal help,(no roids ever here). Maintence is my plan till death. Injuries are more easily had also when you become older too. Pushups, ab work, carido, and still #1 legs w/cardio + BASIC lifts (not more than 15per set are my squats on a core platform*board) not thinking of the weight, but the health concerns are primary. I've relegated myself to this. Better than nothing! Getting old sux!~ A guys prime used to be 35 now its 45 Can you imagine a guy doing weighted squats(holdingdumbells)standing on a sissel.net ball? ........It impresses me. The NFL, and MLB all are now useing the ball in thier athletes training I've heard from many a reliable sorce.FWIW.

Ripndee.. do a google search on the sissel balls, there are many sizes and such, IIRC they are less than 40bux,for a life time investment in your own flexiability/health thats short cash. I go to a gym, just walking in the door has phycholigical effects helping towards a good workout IMO.

Squats. WHen I started doing them in high school, I hated it. After many years of lifting and knowing how much squats can keep the whole body in shape, I love doing them. Of course, it does't hurt that doing squats makes your butt the focal point for the ladies.

I've gotten into Romanian Deadlifts in the last year.  Great workout for the upper hams, butt and lower back.  If you're into core conditioning, check them out.

(PS: that's not me doing the lifts in those pics )
