These young kids and young adults have this weird haircut which is a mohawk but not really a mohawk. They have hair but the middle part is popped up kind of like a mohawk or the blue guy from guardians of the galaxy.

Is this just a trend in hairstyles or is this something more disturbing due to an issue with their DNA?

What the hell do you call this retarded haircut anyways? Is it called a reverse mohawk?

Faux hawk.

ETA Pretty sure it is waning in popularity. Lots of kids on my oldest's U7 soccer team had them two years ago, not so much now. The popular cut on this year's U10 baseball league was kind of "high and long", with the sides almost shaved and maybe the top hair 2"-3" long and combed (damn near plastered) to the side, often with a shaved skin "part".

pompadour it's an exaggerated version of more traditional men's haircuts.

I'm more worried about the people who shave half their head like the guy from the Fifth Element, grow the other half long and fold that over the shaved part.
I can't see how they think that's attractive at all.

Fauxhawk. The preferred haircut of "non-denominational" Christian youth pastors for a decade or so now.

Undercut. It's based on WWII era haircuts. Most of our grandparents probably had it at some point.

Well... there's the Hitler Youth, then there is the Skrillex. Both are undercuts, but the former is a bit cleaner looking and the latter closer to what Oldman had in Fifth Element.

I think they call it a Mohawk with a fade.

Every time I try to get a simple taper with a part, it seems all they know how to do is a damn undercut.

Yeah. it got popular originally because your buddy could upkeep it for you and keep you in regs. Then all these retro looking shows and movies came out and it rebounded. Now it gives barbers an excuse to not practice a good fade/taper.

I'm 51 and I knew some WWI vets. They were some hard drinking sons of bitches too. Tough old bastards right up to the end of their lives.

Well, that's because it is the betas mostly.

Back in WWI and WWII we had more men.

Idk.

I'm a dumb millennial and I just hit my head and beard with clippers and a 3/8 guard once a month.

Works for me for past 10+ years.

I refer to that style as the Hitler Youth cut. It looks like what you see all the Nazis on The History Channel sporting.
