It all started simple enough. I would spend a couple hours per day on here and rarely did I ever post more than 20-25 total in a day.

As I stayed here for a year or so, the amount of time increased and sometimes I would hit 50 posts per day.

But over the past few months, it seems my time here has increased even more. Anytime I'm not swamped with something else (and often when I am), I am logged in here reading and posting like crazy. I post probably at least 75 times per day now and on more active days 100 or more!

So, how many times per day do you post in your best estimates? And does 100 posts per day qualify me as a post whore?

Lastly, what is the treatment for this condition? Do you just let it run it's course? Is there are arf.com support group for post whores? Should I just step away from the pc and go for a walk down the street and yell "Irene" at each house I pass?

With all of the more serious threads about religion, politics, etc that are going today, plus all of the troll posts, I figured I do something a bit more light hearted for a change of pace. This is a thread open to hijacking also, so feel free.

Well shit, I went over 2000 and didn't even notice. Maybe that makes me a post whore. Or maybe making another post about this instead of editing the original one does. I don't know, so I think I'll just post a picture of a bunny with a pancake on it's head to distract everyone.

There are different classes of post whores.

The most common, and dullest, do this:

+1

Slightly more sophisticated post whores omit the "+1", but still only post a single line:

I like <insert pastry type here>.

Some post whores believe that more is more:

+1

IBTL
Do it for the children.

Truly "classy" post whores, the equivalent of a very expensive callgirl, include "a little extra" with their posts.

Maybe. I suppose it depends on your perspective. But when the series Tour Of Duty first started when I was about 11, it was at the time in my mind, the greatest program ever to grace the tv screen. The reason I use Terrence Knox's picture as my avatar is to pay respect to where my love for the AR-15 first started. That's after seeing the M-16's on this program. Up until that point I had been around guns all my life, but mostly just hunting guns and the .38 special my dad used at the time for home defense.

So had it not been for this show, I might have grown up just another hunter with no interest in "evil black rifles". But it peaked my interest in them and I made dad go out and buy an SP1 and a bunch of the PMC M193 that was so common then. Remember the camo boxes? Anyway, that's where it started for me. After that first SP1, me and dad started adding all sorts of "cool" looking guns to the collection. So I guess I owe my love for AR's to the worst actor in history in his worst performance ever!

But I think the series was actually pretty good when it aired originally (not the TNT gutted version). It showed soldiers as soldiers and not a bunch of pyscho, blood-thirsty, heartless beasts as some of the movies of the same period portrayed them.

I hope that sheds some light on that.

I avoid making topics unless I really give a hoot about something... like when it comes down to buying a FF rail system in a few months...

But I really don't know what it means to be a post whore. I never write more than a few paragraphs... then again... outside of a few 5+ page threads, no one does

No, that would make me feel better. But I was away from the board for about 6 straight months more or less from Winter through Spring, so that skewed the stats dramatically. I'm still screwed. Hehe.

Working on it ..... But I also belong and post to a Automotive Technicians group and a Semi Pro Photography Group

Definition:

A post whore is a post-humping nuisance whose only purpose is simply to annoy by sheer volume of submitted post. They are intentionally aiming at being a pest. The post whore is generally looked down upon by most trolls and is often referred to as a spammer. They posses very limited verbal ability and are easily taken apart by flamers and civilians alike. Post whores do not possess the talent, personality, patience, or intelligence to troll using any form of advanced tactics. The true spammer on the other hand takes this one step further. Spamming is usually the exploits of the lowest caliber of troll. However, community based retaliation or mass attacks on civilian territories in an organized trolling venture are the exception to this rule. They lack creativity, but can create extreme chaos in quick order.
