The union thread made me think about this. I've tried looking on the net before to see if I could find the average hourly wage for workers in the US, but I didn't have any luck.

I thought I remembered hearing it was around $12/hr, but I don't remember where I head it or know if it's correct.

Anybody know or have a guess?

That is the US bureau of labor statistics, they may have what you are looking for.

I think I remember the median income being around $33,000-35,000.

Thats gross income.

So that'd be ......what?........About $16-17 per hour,based on a 40 hour work week,52 weeks per year.

Of course that doesn't include the per hour cost of any benefits that might be part of compensation,so $16-17 an hour isn't really all that much.
