Pork ribs boiled until they have no taste, soggy cabbage, & slimey black eyed peas.

Well at least it is easy to not over-eat tomorrow.

Main thing you MUST have is Blackeyed Peas.

I'm thinking Blackeyed Peas, Ham and Cornbread.

Absorbs Champagne really well.

Grilled chicken Caesar salad, homemade wheat bread, some white zinfandel wine. That will do for now (damn I hate this diet stuff!)

I have no willpower to exercise off the really good foods (the Drill Sgts will take care of that starting Feb. 1)

When the Confederate landowners returned to their farms and plantations after the Civil War, the only planted crop that survived the lack of attention was Blackeyed Peas. It is considered a symbol of the hardiness of the South. Thus, it is considered very lucky to have them on New Year's day.

Gotta have em, even if you hate em....my wife suffers through em each Jan 1.

Happy New Year Y'all!
