Flying to Detroit and then driving to Ohio, Pennsylvania and then Virginia...

I hear there is good chili on Ohio.

What's a good place for chili while driving through?

I had skyline twice during my entire life in Ohio.

Both times sucked balls at being "chili". More like pasta with weird meat sauce.

Not terrible. But not good either.

My suggestion: if you're looking for actual chili, keep on going right past skyline and go somewhere else.

I'd eat Wendy's chili over skyline. Not even joking.

Skyline is more like hot dog sauce than chili

In all seriousness, the G&R Tavern in Waldo, Oh is workdwide known for their fried bologna sandwiches but they have amazing chili too. If you're traveling anywhere near there it's worth the stop for a bologna sandwich and a bowl of chili.

My experience in the Midwest is chili is soup and tea is dishwater.

OP, you have been mislead.

There are a number of places in Ohio that specialize in "chilli." but none of them are good.

Good chili can be made anywhere.

Too bad it isn't.

If you are traveling through Toledo, be sure to stop and eat at Tony Packo's.  Chili is okay, famous for their Hungarian hot dogs......

+1 on the skyline hate.  At best it's good to slop on top of a hot dog with cheese

They're talking about Ohio, the "No!" list is much longer.
No noodles, no cocoa powder, etc, etc.

Gold Star, but you won't find any outside of South West Ohio.

Skyline and Goldstar is not chili.  They boil hamburger in water and add cinnamon-- Previous post said Wendy's chili is better ---I agree.....
The coney hot dog with the chili , onions,  cheese and hot sauce is ok.

I'm the same way.  I love the stuff.  You don't eat a bowl of it or have it at a chili cook off.  But it's good on spaghetti.  My family is from the south and eats real chili too.  Call it what you want, but skyline is awesome.
