I'm thinking of these two options cause the acog has the (for wahtever they're worth) buis on top and there ain't much room on the top rail for buis so it's handy to have them on the optic. In terms of the ior, the eye relief works perfectly with the rifle, plus I happen to like ior's.....

This rifle will be used for medium ranged shooting, e.g. it's not a 'cqb' weapon, so a low power scope is what I'm looking for. Don't wanna go variable. Should have some kind of rangefinding ability .....

(*eotech ain't mine, this is my seller's pic.)

How about an Aimpoint?

Aimpoints go good on everything.

Don't think I haven't thought about the susat!

I'd skip the NSN ACOG and go with the TA31. I had my NSN for about 5 years and didn't like the very dim illumination (calibrated for NVG). The TA31 is a much better choice.

You're talkin to a proud donut of death owner! BUT This rifle is gonna be a medium range rifle not much close in or night work! Truthfully, If I could get the buis on teh '31, I'd get that!

I have an NSN, Get a TA31.............................

BUIS aren't neccesarily needed for the way you say you want to use that rifle.

A lot of people don't like the reticle in the NSN.

A burlap sack so nobody has to see that thing

Trade it off for a nice midlength AR

Ribbing aside, how does it shoot? Is it reliable? Why not just keep the Eo?

HAven't got it yet, hence the old pic. I think this rifle is capable of longer ranges than I am with the Eotech. The little sucker's got a 21 inch barrel for pete's sake!

Eotechs are a little busy. I only have one, it's on my FN TPS. Slugs go right in the middle dot at longer ranges, buckshot patterns with the circle at 21 feet. Sweetest freaking setup I can imagine on a riot gun.

I think it looks nice, though I m not a bull pup guy either

Have fun with it!!!

I agreee with the aimpoint or an eotech

Put a Trijicon Reflex on it. Mount it far forward.

Kool Rifle! Kurt did barrel work on my SL8/G36 conversion, too!

I've already got a couple of red dots free for this, ML3, ATN ultra digital , Mepro M21 - I want a low power scope.

I try to keep my rifle simple!

AR15A2 Full length, Government profile, Flashider and Bayonet Lug, and a Red dot Scope for Night fights!

Anything more is well just more stuff to Break, run outta batteries etc. In a SHTF situtaion which is what i bought it for!!

Iron sights don't usually break, Burn out, Run outta batteries and since the handle is fixed it cannot be removed to fall out of my backpack and the tightening screws won't strip out from taking it on and off! I don't have the supply line the military does to truck in loads of batteries to me!!

But to each his own i guess!!

I would just put iron sights on it!!

I'm just a proponent of the K.I.S.S.! Principle!

Oh and get rid of the ORLITE mag you'll be glad you did if ever have to use the gun for some real action!!!

generally the rifle and mods will cost you 1100$. But you have a sweet piece when they're done.

Compared to other piston guns you can get an AR180 for less, but to make it ubertactical you'd have to fit a predetor rail and then get an aCE stock kit so its about the same price. There's the SL8, which to convert to hi-caps puts you well into the 2-3K range. There's the Deawoos, which have the same problem as the AR180, lack of ubertacticality. I don't know if there are civvie FNC's, but lack of parts for the full autos leads me to believe there are not. There's the Kel Tek, that I can't bring myself to even look at. Finally, there's the POF USA piston kit, which I almost got. But I have a MRP and rumor has it we'll have a piston kit for that before we get our hands on shrikes!

My choice was between teh G36 conversion and a KKF M17. Initially I was gonna go splurge on teh HK due to the wait time on the M17, then the HK I was hoping for got sold and a KKF poopped up on teh EE.
