Considering you can get a NEW "pre-ban" now for $600-$800, a pre-1994 AR should be worth as much as any 10 year old AR.
Sorry Pre-ban owners, but you lost some money. I say $300-$500. |

For me it would depend on what Colt ends up making now. I have seen nothing to indicate they will go back to normal pin size, no sear block, properly marked, etc. If I didn't already have several, I would pay $1000-1200 without batting an eye, just to get an "original AR."

At least 1500-1600 for it and don't take a penny less! Colt will never make an AR15 again! They may make Sporters, Match Target or one with WMD on the side but I don't think they will ever make another AR15 branded one. BigDozer66 |

PRE-BAN - Used, 10+ years old.
LEO-Marked - Used, 1-10 years old. NIB - New In Box, as in made just this year. This is what I will wait for. |

Hmmm. I'll take a quality "pre-ban" Colt over a new brand X any day of the week.
I haven't witnessed Colt M4 uppers nosediving in prices either. The new LE Colt guns on the EE are in the 1K+ range. Price accordingly for a used rifle in a free state. $500-600 for a nice used all-Colt M4gery, DREAM ON! Maybe in a distress sale.... |

So is this a question about Colt's limited run on certain "ar15's" or is this a AWB question?
Some will still pay mroe for certain pre-ban's for different reasons. |

If it were a new in box rifle (one that was actually never fired, not LNIB that was only test fired using two cases of Q3131A), it would be worth a premium, if it has been breathed on hard or fired or molested in any other way it is no longer a collectable, and shouldn't command much of a premium. There will be a collectors market for the "Colt AR-15" marked guns, but that will be limited to those that are still unfired, that is the way collectables markets work. Take the beany baby guy at the gunshow, he will gladly give you top dollar for a "in box never played with" limited edition froo froo doll, but if you let your kid take it out of the box and smell it, he might give you a buck fifty.
