Would you rather buy something new up to
the $1200 range. Certainly opens up alot
of options for a nice rifle.

Or

Buy a mint condition complete Colt
Pre-Ban lower Ser# SP84xxx... late 70's ?
for $1000 and buy something like the TAPCO
M16 kit ( $269 )and use the Colt M16 upper
for a complete Pre-Ban Colt package.


I'm leaning toward the Pre-Ban lower
because I know I can use any upper I want
and dress it up any way I want.

Thoughts ?
