The Alice Cooper album where they all wore dresses for the cover shot.
Should have been a big clue, and I should have gone with it.
The music wasn't that great.

Damn, I'm old.

It was 1978 and I was 8 and an aspiring guitar god. My parents were not well pleased with my purchase.

I don't remember exactly which Weird Al cassette it was, but it was either this one or "The Food Album". I was a huge WAY fan back in the day. I actually have one of his newer CDs autographed.

I think the first one I bought was 1039 smoothed out slappy hours by Greenday. On cassette tape. WAY before BJ became a political DB.

1980, Empire Strikes Back soundtrack, 2 album set, $12 or so. I was 8, and saved my allowance to get it. My mom bought me some headphones so she didn't have to listen to Darth Vaders theme every time I played it, which was probably at least 75 times a day. I wore out the pages in the booklet that came with it, had to tape them back together. I distinctly remember several times choosing to not go outside and play with friends and ride my bike so I could sit in the house and listen to that music.

Earth, Wind, and Fire--walked into a record store, they were playing it and I heard this great song, bought it on the spot! I think they were fucking with me, the record I bought was so bad I never could listen to enough of it to find the song. Still have the record though after 38 years, no way to play it though. Sounds like skeet time...
