She is almost 4 years old and when we got her she was only about 10 weeks and looked like a Beagle mix.

We know now that she isn't much if any Beagle.  She weighs 52 lbs, and is lightening fast and can cut and run like the wind.

I just took this pic of her and got to wondering what the dog experts on Arfcom thought.

Beagle/APBT

Broad stout chest and muscular structure suggest APBT.  Colors/size suggest Beagle.

Beagle-Jack Russell?

Sorry, saw you mentioned you know she isn't beagle now...how do you know that? She's got some stockiness and coloring that suggest beagle to me, and the alert expression, ears, and head look like Jack Russell. I've got the same question with my dog. He has the fur, coloring, and height of a smaller German Shepard, but his muzzle is shorter and his frame is petite- I can't get any weight on him no matter what. I feed him more, good stuff too, and all he does is poop more, lol.

We have a mutt that looks like a black lab but a little more puppyish and slightly longer hair.  So many people used to ask what kind she was that I started stating very matter-of-factly telling them that she is a Scandinavian goose hound.  (which would have been my answer but I didn't want to seem like I was trolling the good Professor)

For $60 you can swab her cheek and have a genetic test ran.  I did it with one of mine.

You know they have DNA tests for dogs now.  You swab their mouth, mail it in with $50 and they tell you what breeds are in your dog.

The head (excluding the ears), fur, and tail look beagle to me. Body structure also looks like a stout hound. Probably Beagle or similar hound mixed with something else.

Just about everything except the color looks almost identical to my first dog.  (A $5 special from the Humane Society which lived for 22 years) My dogs mother was a purebred show grade Cocker Spaniel., which had been bred to another show grade Cocker.  Similar to the pictures came out.  Guess the whatever from down the street got there first.    All in attendance were extremely surprised and stud fees got returned.
