Charlie Sheen was hospitalized Tuesday for a psychiatric evaluation after a woman called police to say the star was throwing furniture and yelling in his room at The Plaza

Police were called to the room at about 2 a.m. and Sheen appeared highly intoxicated, a law enforcement official said. He was not arrested and went voluntarily.
Sheen’s representative said the actor was taken to a hospital after having an allergic reaction to medication. The spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, said Sheen headed back to Los Angeles Tuesday night.
Sources told CBS 2 HD that Sheen was highly intoxicated when he was found and had apparently started drinking about 8 p.m. Monday. A mystery woman allegedly called police sometime after 1:30 a.m. from inside the bathroom in the room for help.
The New York Post reported that police officials said the woman was an escort.
Sources said the unidentified woman in the room claimed Sheen, 45, was acting irrationally and throwing furniture. Sheen reportedly told police he had been “out partying” and flew into a rage when noticed his wallet was missing after returning to his room.
At least $7,000 in damages to the hotel room was recorded, sources said. Tables and chairs had apparently been thrown around the room and a chandelier was also damaged.
