Charlie Sheen was hospitalized Tuesday for a psychiatric evaluation after a woman called police to say the star was throwing furniture and yelling in his room at The Plaza

––––

Police were called to the room at about 2 a.m. and Sheen appeared highly intoxicated, a law enforcement official said. He was not arrested and went voluntarily.

Sheen’s representative said the actor was taken to a hospital after having an allergic reaction to medication. The spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, said Sheen headed back to Los Angeles Tuesday night.

Sources told CBS 2 HD that Sheen was highly intoxicated when he was found and had apparently started drinking about 8 p.m. Monday. A mystery woman allegedly called police sometime after 1:30 a.m. from inside the bathroom in the room for help.

The New York Post reported that police officials said the woman was an escort.

Sources said the unidentified woman in the room claimed Sheen, 45,  was acting irrationally and throwing furniture. Sheen reportedly told police he had been “out partying” and flew into a rage when noticed his wallet was missing after returning to his room.

At least $7,000 in damages to the hotel room was recorded, sources said. Tables and chairs had apparently been thrown around the room and a chandelier was also damaged.

An excellent example of what females can do to a perfectly sane man over time.

I don't understand why this is such a shock.  Let's see, he shot John Travolta's wife in the leg, he screwed around with Heidi Fleiss and her business, shacked up with Ginger Lynn, married a couple of crazies, each of whom say that he gets out of control.  My God he's been doing this crap for 20 years.  Get over the shock.  And who cares about the Hollywood insider bullshit.  You guys read all you want about him on TMZ or Perez Hilton.  I'll be watching 2.5 Men and laughing.

I think we should set him up on a date with a MMA chick, but not tell him she's a pro fighter.

It would be AWESOME!!!

Taylor Swift should go on a weekend bender with Charlie in NYC.

Then she would have enough material for a couple of albums, instead of one song....

His character on the show is him in real life, alcoholic, hookers, blowing money left and right, woman problems. They couldn't have cast it any better or actually had him in mind the whole time when creating the character.

ETA: I wonder if his wallet was actually stolen, I would be pissed also.
