What song would you like to hear as TSHTF?
I was inspired by the "What do you have "ready to go" right now?" thread and thought we should have some background music playing during the blessed event. I choose.......anything by Ice Tee. |

Quoted: Led Zeppelin - 'Immigrant Song'. View Quote Yes, me too. Maybe alternating with "Ride of the Valkeries"..... |

Viking Kittens:

I was thinking along the lines of:
The Pixies - "Where is my mind?" H2SO4 - "Imitation Leather Jacket" Led Zeppelin - "Achilles Last Stand" Led Zeppelin - "No Quarter" Pearl Jam - "Do The Evolution" Immigrant song is another GREAT choice! Chances I couldn't hear anything because I'll be speaking in strange biblical tongues at the top of my lungs while firing at anything that so much as twitches within the range of my rifle. [:-)] J/K I'd have to go with either The Pixies, or Achilles Last Stand |

I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride With sword and pistol by my side Many a young maid lost her bottles to my trade Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five But I am still alive. I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide And with the sea I did abide. I sailed a schooner round the Horn of Mexico I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed But I am living still. I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide Where steel and water did collide A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound But I am still around..I'll always be around..and around and around and around and around I fly a starship across the Universe divine And when I reach the other side I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can Perhaps I may become a highwayman again Or I may simply be a single drop of rain But I will remain And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again.. "Wrong Nigga To Fuck Wit" by Ice Cube...it's a natural! [X]

I believe the last stanza has the phrase "Universal Divide", not "Universe devine".
Just saying..... Let me add that song I can;t think of the title of, or who sings it. I asked Troy in another thread. He knows. He came up with it before..... Scott |
|
DScott, I know. All the lyrics have it as "divide". I just never can hear "divide". It always sounded like divine, and it seems to fit with the progression of the song a little better too.
The lyrics also have the maids losing "baubles" instead of bottles. WTF is a bauble, and when did maids start carrying them? Edited to add the Highwaymen are Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash. I think the Highwaymen released three albums. |

Flight of the Valkyries.
I don't know about you guys, but when TSHTF, I'm wearing my Viking helmet as I load up the truck. [>]:)] Slammin' a couple shots of 12-year old Scotch, lightin upon the official SHTF cigar and hookin' up with my crew on the CB who will probably be doing the same thing. If I only had a Roman soldier helmet... |

Classic choice Doublefeed, I'll listen to that one if I decide to sport a cowboy hat instead.[):)]

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep, Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream: 'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion, A home and a country should leave us no more! Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave: And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war's desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust." And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! |

Anybody ever heard "Goober Peas"?
'Twas just before the battle, Before the fight begun, The general looked around him And swore he heard a gun, And what did he see before him Underneath the trees? But the Georgia militia Cracking goober peas. Crack, crack, crack, crack, Cracking goober peas, etc. View Quote "Waitin' on the militia, and eatin Goober Peas..." This is a fun SHTF song. |

I second the Star Spangled Banner myself,
But am I the only one NOT praying for the Sheoot THTF????? |

Deer Dance, by System of a Down
Circumventing circuses, Lamenting in protest, To visible police, Presence sponsored fear, Battalions of riot police, With rubber bullet kisses, Baton courtesy, Service with a smile Beyond the Staples Center you can see America, With its tired, poor, avenging disgrace, Peaceful, loving youth against the brutality, Of plastic existence. Pushing little children, With their fully automatics, They like to push the weak around, Pushing little children, With their fully automatics, They like to push the weak around. Round, Round, A rush of words, Pleading to disperse, Upon your naked walls, alive, A political call, The fall guy accord, We can't afford to be neutral on a moving train, Beyond the Staples Center you can see America, With its tired, poor, avenging disgrace, Peaceful, loving youth against the brutality, Of plastic existence. Pushing little children, With their fully automatics, They like to push the weak around, Pushing little children, With their fully automatics, They like to push the weak around. Push them around, A deer dance, invitation to peace, War staring you in the face, dressed in black. With a helmet, fierce, Trained and appropriate for the malcontents, For the disproportioned malcontents, The little boy smiled, it'll all be well, The little boy smiled it'll all be well, Pushing little children, With their fully automatics, They like to push the weak around, Pushing little children, With their fully automatics, They like to push the weak around. Pushing little children, With their fully automatics, They like to push the weak around, Push the weak around, Push the weak around, Push the weak around, They like to push the weak around. |

I guess Creed's "One Last Breath" might be appropriate in certain SHTF situations.
