Okay guys, I'm stuck deciding what I should get. "Get both" really isn't an option.

I have a KISS Del-Ton 16" carbine I am very happy with that hasn't failed me yet. It's role is home defense/target/SHTF for pretty much anything less than 150 yards. It has Troy BUIS and a couple of other small upgrades, but pretty much stock. I would like to replace the upper with something higher quality, but also want a high quality RDS. Can only afford one.

Should I buy an Aimpoint Micro T-1 for the Del-Ton or go with a new BCM Midlength upper receiver?

What says the hive?

Buy the BCM if it's what you really want.
Then sell the Delton upper in the EE.
Keep scanning the EE for a nice used T1.
Even an M2 or M3 would be better than irons and they are solid optics and can be had cheap.

Or since your upper has proven reliable get the T1 now and shoot out the barrel and then upgrade the upper later.
Delton's barrels are fine. I guess you could upgrade the Bolt carrier and not worry about the barrel.
