What is the standard scope on the marine M40A1. What is the standard scope on the M24SWS.
What about SPR, West coast Marine SAM-R and M14 DMR. What company makes the scopes

The Marines use the Unertl almost exclusively for their precision rifles.
Army uses a lot of Leupold Mk4's.

Someone posted earlier that the Marines were going to Schmidt and Bender 3.5X10 illuminated.
Oh and SEALs use Super Snipers

There is no such thing as a West Coast SAM-R, those are just M16A4 MWSs with ACOGs. The SAM-R and the DMR uses Leupolds. And the M40s and SASRs are transitioing to the M8541 made by SB.

The SASR is the special application scoped rifle, AKA the Barrett M82A1-3 50 cal.

The M8541 (8541 is the MOS for a Scout Sniper) is a 3-12x50 scope with a Gen II illuminated mil-dot reticle. The plan is eventually replace all precision scopes in the Marine Corps with them, however the A3 and SASRs will be first. The DMR may or may not happen.

Army has gone with the Thermal Weapon Sight PAS-10 (I think).
Thermal gives you an amazing capability, any idea why you misguided children didn't go that route?

We have the same thermal sights as the army but normally those are used on machine guns. The PVS-10 is a standard Image intensifier, most of the SS community didn't like them in OIF 1, because of being too bulky and I believe most lack confidence in the sight . The S&B is pretty much the top of the line daylight optic out there, I believe the night solution is to place a PVS-14 behind the sight via a mounting bracket.

You are right in that I can't remember the nomenclature.
S&B have a great reputation and the -14 is a great optic, but individual thermal is definately the future.
Can't hide. I am going to go google the new precision thermal optic we have got or I'll never get to sleep

Clarify for me I know in the beginning the marines had two SAM-Rs One was what is today a regulation Marine M16A4MWS the other SAM-R was a M16A4 with FF DD rail I believe. I also thought that SAM-R had a SS 1/8 match barrel a special foldin FSB made by Knights armory and a two stage match trigger. I thought the tricked out M16 was the west coast SAM-R is it actually east coast. I am not talking about now I am talking about the era before the marines were issued on mass TA31F.

My bad.
The I combined the PVS 10 and PAS 13 in my head.
Yeah, the PVS 10 ain't the best thing out there. Have they developed a PVS 14 integration with the PB?
