Old clunkers, in good shape..   Mine is an 88 Fs diesel Blazer, full of Bondo fof the rust  Thei Princess drives a 93 Jeep Cherokee which is in very nice shape.  I'd rather spend my money on the house and guns instead of cars that lose value daily.  Ops

86 Dodge Ram p/u with 144,000
87 Mitsu Montero 4x4
79 Jeep Wagoneer being rebuilt for when society collapses; I can roam the desert highways in search of the juice

The two daily drivers above cost me about 500.00 a year to run including registration and insurance. I would also drive them anywhere. The Montero has been all over the southwest; through snow, blazing desert, rain, small rivers, navigating through mtn trails, etc.

My wife drives a newer car.

i'd rather invest my money in houses, guns and the market.

Been saving 300-500 a month for the last 15 years.

I almost bought a Toyo Tacoma 4x4 recently. That'll probably be my next car.

'99 Honda CRV with 98,000 mi. bought used 3 years ago with 30,00 on it, and recently a '02 Jeep Liberty with 24,253 mi. to replace '96 Jeep Cherokee that had 150,000 miles and needed work, cost of which exceeded it's worth, got more for it on trade. I plan on keeping the Liberty until it too is worn out.... So far, I like the Liberty, much better ride than the older Cherokee....

Ya know, that attitude is getting really old.  For many people their car is a toy, the same way that for many people a firearm does double duty as self-defense and a "toy".

There's also people out there that can easily afford to walk into a dealership and plop down their $80k on the barrel head and say "I'll take the red one".  Is that me?  no.  Is that you?  I have no idea.  But remember that money is relative.

If we all went through life not owning a single nice thing, with everything just being utilitarian and a tool, life would be pretty goddamn boring.

Cars, no vehicles are my passion. I like a nice car or truck, and I don't mind spending my money on them. So maney cars, so little time!

In a couple of years I'll buy a new one.  Maybe sell off both of the existing ones and just have one for awhile.
