I got a couple of them in a box of some random shooting stuff at an estate sale this weekend, the guy's kids didn't know what they were for. They look like maybe highpower competition slings? I'm guessing they're about 60", and are pretty thick leather. and have two buckles. Any ideas what they are for, approximate value? They look brand new.

If so why is the second, inner buckle on the wrong side of the loop?

Really really fat dudes belt, from K-Mart, circa 1985,

Bet you can still smell the pathetic failure and sickly oily sweat all over that hot mess of a belt.

Yeah, it a local guy/company making them. Seems like he does a lot of gun stuff. Tried calling them a couple times but no ever picks up.

Safety buckle for the fatty belt in-case the primary fails dramatically, that secondary keeps everyone safe...  cause that primary belt buckle would be accelerated to 87 feet per second squared when the lipids inevitably win against the fight to contain the girth.

Hmmm... maybe he did leather tactical belts with a dual buckle. Who knows...

I shot smallbore competitions when I was 13, and it kinda looks like the slings we used, but I can't really remember.

What about the letters/numbers stamped on it in the first pic?

Looks like a serial or model number.

Only thing I can think of is that it may be the manufacturers spin on one of the M1 Garand/1903 style  slings.

Its a ONE-PIECE sling that has similar attributes to the M1907 slings, but with buckles instead of frogs.

You'd adjust the longest section first to form a loop for the left arm & the forward swivel, then adjust whats left to fit through the rear swivel

OR

Do the first adjustment to get the length right then use the slack to fasten around your arm

The buckles are on opposite sides for a reason

Looks like someones take on a national match type one-piece sling.  Around my area you see them alot on muzzleloaders.

OP you were spot on, it's a vintage Creedmore type competition rifle sling. Given the shape that one is in you could clear $60-$70 on Ebay easy.

Take that fat man belt bandwagon guys.

So if I remember right from my smallbore comp days, if these are the same, you wrap it around your support arm and then loop it through the front sling swivel right?
