I have a walking staff that my brother made me years ago. Its 46 inches of slightly curved hickory, about an inch and a quarter at the bottom and slightly over two inches at the top. its extremely hard, extends my reach over six feet and hits like a baseball bat. it looks rustic and nice cause its got some of those national park hiking emblems on it and its already in my hands when I am walking. at my age, nobody questions a walking stick.if needed I would hold the bottom end and swing the thicker top end.
if not that, I have an older Cold Steel X2 Voyager folding knife, fully serrated clip point, fits in a pocket more or less and opens to over 13 inches. my edc knife now is a four inch fully serrated Voyager, opens to nine inches.
(is there a way to install the X2 blade into the hickory staff?)
