I have the best luck with wally world federal cartridge red box bulk pack. 550 rds in those milk carton type boxes. All the other brands seem to have a lot of miss fires .Back when I was a kid 1970`s I don`t ever remember any misfires. So what are you guys using?

I use Winchester Dynapoints in all of my semiautos. They function well, are reasonably accurate and most importantly subsonic.

CCI Subsonic
Shot some Eley Sport recently and was impressed.

CCI....Why go cheap with .22lr.?

That said the Federal bulk HPs (at least the lot I got) does seem to work much better than I thought it would.

550rd Federal bulk packs from Wal-mart work well. Remington Golden Bullets don't work at all in my 15-22. Feeding issues and even bent casings.

"Anything but Remington Golden Bullets"

I have had great luck with the Winchester and Federal bulk pack.
CCI and Wolf are tack drivers in most of my .22lrs

First post again. You forgot to mention that they are hollow points (bonus).

Centurion made in Mexico, cheap and pretty accurate.

CCI Standard Velocity .22LR are the most reliable and accurate in all my rifle/pistols. More $$ but I like to practice well placed shots instead of just blasting anymore.

20-30 years ago, I shot enough bricks of Thunderbolt to build a stout pig mansion.

CCI for steel challenge , and federal bulk blue box for practice and plinking

Depends, CCI Subsonic through my SS Sparrow on CZ-452 American.

Federal bulk pack through my 10/22's.

Federal 550 rd wally world bulk pack, although variable as hell from box to box, seems to work best overall.

CCI standard velocity when using my S&W 41
Link Posted: 11/22/2012 4:43:55 AM EST
Golden Bullets work in all my guns without a hitch.

Winchester works in maybe one, and federal always sucks too.
Link Posted: 11/22/2012 4:44:42 AM EST
Always had good results with Federal bulk pack. Second is Winchester XPert in the 500 bulk pack.

Honestly, anything! both my Ruger 10/22 and my Sig522 love anything I feed them, with ZERO issues, my Ruger has eaten tons of Winchester cheapo rounds, and it spits 'em out without hesitation.

plain old remington standard velocity

WInchester bulk from walmart. Federal is pretty good too as is blazer. Remington is crappy across the board in my experience.

True. My 10/22 eats anything. My Beretta Neos is a bit more finicky. I always seem to get a couple FTF's or duds out of bulk pack ammo with that one. Never had a problem with CCI MiniMags.

CCI Blazer, about $17 per 500
Link Posted: 11/22/2012 5:34:43 AM EST
I use the Fed bulk packs. For what I ask of my .22, they do just dandy.
Link Posted: 11/22/2012 5:36:54 AM EST
Federal bulk for value. CCI for quality.

I still have maybe 5000 rds of Remington bulk from back when they were GTG. They are 8 years old but still work just fine. I wonder when their quality started to suck, and why?
Link Posted: 11/22/2012 5:37:07 AM EST
I still have a fuckton of Winchester T22 target that some dealer or other was clearing out. It's quite accurate in my guns, though one does prefer CCI minimags for absolute reliability in cycling.

Federal 550 pack from wally world best bang for the buck er jack rabbit

Federal bulk pack. It stays subsonic out of my 22/45TB and my 4.5" 10/22 SBR, and with the suppressor is hearing safe in either gun. It wont stay subsonic out of my 16" 10/22, so that requires separate ammo.

I'd estimate the amount of rounds that don't fire on the first strike to be about 1%, and the amount that wont fire even with repeated strikes to be about a third of that. It's good plinking ammo IMO.

Fed 550.

Although it's not "plinking" ammo, Wolf match is f-ing accurate....

Federal 525 bulk packs. For quiet accuracy I shoot either Wolf MT or Aguila Super Extra.

I use Dynapoints in the CZ-452 with the Quest can on it. I love how quiet the thing is and it's pretty accurate for what I need to do with it (squirrels, black birds/starlings/crows, chipmunks, racoons, etc.)

When I'm using the M261 .22 kits in the rifles I use Federal bulk pack, as it's plenty accurate and cycles well.

I have to use Remington Golden Bullets in the Advantage Arms .22 kit for the G19. The Federals won't cycle it for some reason (either not enough power or not heavy enough bullet... either way, it won't cycle).

Not to change the subject, but to add to it: go subsonic if you want repeatable accuracy at more than 35 yards. After extensive testing, Federal Match, CCI Subsonic, Remington Target, Wolf, pretty much in that order, but they are all very good.

Anything by CCI seems much cleaner. And when using a can, Gemtech's subsonic ammo has served me well. A little more expensive but still cheap enough for a brick.
ETA- CCI supposedly makes the Gemtech ammo.

CCI, any flavor of CCI works great in my Marlin M60. (except shorts of course)

Winchester 555. Accurate enough in my 10/22 and Cooey, open up reliably on gophers.
