I want an OD green 1911. Which is the most permanent that I can do myself. I have a sandblaster  and access to paint equipment. I also own a stove if it is the bake on kind.

suggestions please.

Duracoat when properly applied is one damn durable finish.

Dura coat

"OD Green" DuraCoat on the slide, grip safety and MSH.  "Stainless" DuraCoat on the frame and barrel bushing.

I even used the "glow-in-the-dark" sight paint DuraCoat on the sights, though this shot doesn't show that.

+1 One of the easiest, durable, do it yourself finishes there is. Great stuff!
