And rifle for that matter?

I'd like to do some back yard target shooting and rimefire is out of the question for the house that I live in now...

.22 with Long CB caps?

Out of a 20" AR with a conversion kit they are literally "hollywood quiet"; the loudest noise is the hammer falling...out of a pistol, it's a minor "snap" and that's about it...

It needs to be hand-cycled, but it otherwise works just fine...

I searched long and hard and finally bought a Daisy model 008 double action CO2 air pistol. It was a great choice for my intended use.
It shoots Pellets or BB's and is very accurate. It looks cool and is easy to carry and snag-free.

10mm, when you care enough to send the very best.

It depends on what you're looking for.

Are you wanting to shoot BBs or pellets?

Are you wanting a replica pistol, or a target pistol?

I'm assuming you'd want it CO2 powered?
Or are you thinking single shot spring powered? Or pre-charged pneumatic?

What is your budget for the pistol?

This is a broad field, and there is certainly no "best" option out there. No "Glock" of the airgun world.
Many companies with many types of airguns. There are pros and cons to everything, and lots of personal preference.
And consider you're talking from $30 to $3000, try to narrow it down some.

Always wanted one of those Beemen P1 single shot pistols. No gas, CO2, pumps, etc.
