The children were all excited to be in a new place and were acting up but things will settle down. Seeing "F**K" all over the home page "was" a little troubling. [smoke]

Until 2 days ago, this site was UNMODERATED... Now that we ([i]mods[/i]) are being re-instated, the rules shall be enforced.
Quite frankly, there are a number of members on the "Hit List" right now, that can expect banishment in the very near future. That list includes those posting porn, using of foul language, being racially offensive, etc... |

We do not like to moderate anyone.As responsible adult gun owners we must set a good example for everyone who looks at us as a group.If you don't like a poster's idea,attack the contents of the post,not the person making the comments.
I like the female body as much as anyone here and enjoy some of the artistic/clean pictures some of you have shared with us in the past.Porn on the other hand, has no place here. PS[B]goatboy[/B]you should take Don R off the mods list,and place antiUSSA in his place,since there is room for only 4 mods on GD. |

Like AntiUSSA, I am more of a hardline moderator than I am a warningshot first mod. To each his own style(must be the wisdom that comes with age right Ed? ;)).
I'd like to think that anyone capable of operating firearms of several type is mature enough to know when he is breaking rules or crossing lines. So even though I will explain my actions most of the time, I will fire no shots across bows. Kuiper |

Although we have a enormous number of members, every so often some feel that their right to do and say whatever they want overides the rules that have been set by the man who owns the site, and provides it to us, free of charge. For these members, no warning is justified.

I`ve come across topics on other boards complaing about the lack of communication on why some folks get banned. Just or unjust is not what they are saying, They said email from them were never answered and some are perplexed while other are hostile, there is a lot of AR15.com bashing on AK47.net and the assault web I`ve seen it too, Glocktalk had a thread on this but it was more civil.
I know reading and following the rules should be easy but in the name of good PR, maybe a explanation would be a nice courtesy. BTW I NEVER,EVER reeplied to such juvenile threads[:)] |

FWIW: I respond to each and every email I receive, be it good, bad or just plain ugly...
I can also state for the record that in "most" instances, we ([i]mods[/i]) forward these emails onto each other so everyone is kept in the loop -- this is not always the case, that's why I stated "most". If any member ever feels the need to discuss something in person, they are free to call me... The phone number is on my websites -- look em up! |

I personally don't use foul language in posts or around my children. I hope we can all be adults and refrain from using profanity in our posts. My son likes to sit in my lap while I am looking at ar15.com so I have to be real careful when he is with me.

Personally I'm really glad to see and welcome the moderation. It had gotten so that I couldn't check the board with the kids around for fear of them reading the vulgarity over my shoulder.If people can't be decent give 'em the boot. [^]

The rules are simple and are not all that unreasonable. If you are not bright enough to understand them or just choose to break them because of your God given right to the Freedom of Speech then please do not bitch when you are locked out or booted. If you need an explanation before the fact please note that the Moderators should not be obligated to hold your hands and use touchy feely methods to let you down easily.
I got a ticket the other day for an illegal pass. I would have liked a warning but knew before hand that I had my butt hanging out when I crossed that line. I paid the price for it and whined in silence. |

Alright here's my opinion, for threads and posts absolutely no warning is needed. I believe however that a warning shot would be warranted before someone is banned from the site. Just my .02 though.
