Japan is a strategic ally. They are our crucial foothold in the east. What is he doing to help? |

He is doing what he always does in time of crisis.
Hit the golf course. |

""The United States will continue to offer any assistance we can as Japan recovers from multiple disasters and we will stand with the people of Japan in the difficult days ahead," Mr. Obama said. In all about 50,000 American service members are helping however they can. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has dispatched two of its top experts as the Japanese struggle to contain the reactor crisis that escalated throughout the weekend." This says that U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Roos 'has emerged as the president's man on the ground': |

Japan is a strategic ally. They are our crucial foothold in the east. What is he doing to help? What do you want him to do? A) Interfere with the Japanese authorities on the ground while engineering a photo op? B) Give a stern lecture to the reactors on how they need to be more civic minded? C) Print even more US currency in order to save 'their' economy at the detriment of ours? D) All of the above We should consider the requests that are asked of us, not rush in with a 'FEMA trailer' plan... |

Too bad, he should send them Dave_A and LW303.
They are SUPER SMART and could fix everything in a jiffy! |

They are moving a third aircraft carrier to Japan, I think in part to help with the helio lift and just as important to show that we will protect them and pick up the slack in defense due to the Japanese loosing so many fighter aircraft.

Staying out of the way.
On the other hand US Military is helping shuttle supplies and evacuations. And if you might not have noticed, when Japanese airports were closed, the flights in the air were diverted to American Military Bases.

It doesn't matter what he does or doesn't do. People here will say it's wrong just because it's Obama.

The United States government is broke, bankrupt. How much additional money would you like to borrow from the Chinese to give to Japan? Or, would you prefer to to just print more dollars?
BTW, the Japanese hold a significant amount of the American debt. I would like to help but......... |

The Japanese Prime Minister rejected President Obama's food aid plan yesterday. Other Japanese officials were quoted saying "What the fuck was he thinking? We don't need any fried chicken, watermelon, or purple drank." An unnamed member of the media tried to explain it off saying that Obama only made the overture because he was upset that teleprompter manufacturing cease for at least a year as the biggest factory was destroyed. http://korkedbats.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/koolaidlarge.jpg Im really glad I did not have a mouth full of root beer.. |
